It may not be a style you like, but it's intricate, and is what makes FF6 look like it does. If anything, the sprites are more like "fanart" than the beautiful art he did for the game. His magitech armor designs were so much better than what ended up in the game...

And yeah, his art was fairly impressive, though I kinda prefer Steiner as a cantankerous old coot to the hard-edged warrior Amano seemed to envision him as.
