Shortest anime you have completed?

Postby Allegro » Thu Apr 20, 2006 12:38 am

As far as episode (or even time) length, what is the shortest anime series you have watched and completed? Note that can include an OVA title, but not a feature-length film.

The shortest anime I've seen was a one shot OVA called, Ichigeki Satchu Hoi Hoi San. Lasted only 10 minutes, though I would argue it had enough substance in it to be considered a "complete" title.

The azumanga daioh movie is like 10-15 minutes. But I haven't seen it

The shortest ive seen may be a 13 episode series. Like Air or Paranoia Agent.

Edit: I forgot about FLCL

The shortest series I have are Kanon and Ikki Tousen, both of which have 13 eps. I know FLCL had 6, but I'm not buying 3 DVD's for 6 eps. That's a ripoff.

for me probably Hoshi no Koe (voice of a distant star) or final fantasy 7: last order both were a half hour i believe

FLCL

Anime I LIKED that was pretty short...or time was short...

Haibane Renmei-13 (took me a few years and I am missing a few episodes)
Pretear-13 (a few days)

Kaleido star Season one- 26 episodes, but I watched it in less than 3 days..

Full Metal Alchemist. 52 episodes.

The only other anime I`ve ever finished is DragonBall Z and Dragonball which are long...

And all the other anime I like are in progress.

Going with the obvious choice, FLCL is the shortest I've ever seen. How they managed to cram all that plot into six thirty minute episodes is beyond me!

The second shortest anime I've seen is Pilot Candidate. It stopped after about 13 episodes--but the weirdest thing is, there was no resolution! It just stopped!

Elf Princess Rane -- 2 episode OAV. I was enjoying it, too, I wish they had made more.

Lemme see... D.N. Angel, which was 26 episodes, and Tsubasa Chronicle, which has 26 episodes, too. They're still making Tsubasa, though, and I haven't seen episodes 24 or 25 yet. =(

I think it needs to be clarified. with OVA, it's easy to find 1 ep DVDs that are 25 minutes long, since there were a lot of one shot anime.

For TV series, I think the shortest I know of (episode length) wise were those 5 minute segments of You're Under Arrest (which shared the show with "Colorful" and another feature) or Azumanga Daioh which ran for five minutes each daily and a 25 minute episode made up of that week's shorts

For shortest TV series, I think Hand Maid May only had 11 episodes (most series run for 13, 26 or 39 episodes per season)

The shortest anime I've ever seen is Moeyo Ken. It's only four episodes long and not very good; however, it's one of those anime that are fun to make fun of.

FLCL, 6 eps. But because it wasn't my favorite, I'll also mention Air. 12 episodes (technically). Yay! :thumb:

The shortest anime I have the complete DVD collection of as far as smallest number of episodes would be Chance Pop Session.
