not your typical anime lover checking in

Postby desperado » Sat Sep 11, 2004 7:04 am

hey there i stumbled upon this site the other day and was in love. i love anime but almost quite it after a certain mecha anime (i love mecha(its on the list not to mention so i dont know if even this will get me in trouble....)) but got back into it big time with .//hack games and sign (i still have to finish that show). but a little about me. My hobbies are: video games, anime, books, and electric guitar, and my sports are: tae kwondo ( i shall be a blackbelt next month hopefully) car shows (im a 17 year old that bought with his own money a 1960 thunderbird in almost perfect condition(will post picks if you tell me how)) and generally drooling over cars and entering my car in car shows. I was a bit wild before i came to Christ this summer but hey i know the true path now and im doing my best to follow it though im quite clumsy at walking this path at times (im new i still struggle with issues). But hey i hope to really get welcomed into this board and site it just looks plain kick butt!

Hey Desperado welcome to CAA. Don't worry nobody's gonna ban you for saying Evangelion. It's a "do not discuss" title on this site not a "never utter the name of this anime series" title.:P So you got yourself a 1960 T-Bird...very nice.:thumb: And you can post pics by going to the bottom of a post when you're creating a new one and clicking the manage attachments button, then just browse your folders for it. So I hope you enjoy yourself here.

welcome, I also love your taste in videos games. I have been wanting to check out star ocean myself. Someone told me that the voices during battle got pretty annoying though. Very awesome car by the way. hope to see you on the boards

Hello! Your car is extremely l337!

I like your taste in games too, though I'd heard that the new Star Ocean had music that made you wish you were deaf and a boring unoriginal plot with hackneyed characters. Of course, this was from the same bunch of reviewers who gave Wild ARMs 3 the same treatment, so what do they know? And you like Chrono Trigger! THE BEST SNES RPG EVER!

What other mecha anime do you like? I'm a huge Macross fan! Go Veritech!

the new star ocean's voices are all right but if you like 80's era keyboard music then the music is for you in it....though its ok in some parts. the thunderbird is raven black with pearlesent mixed in. i plan on repainting it in the next couple years to gunmetal gray and black(gray on the body and black on the inserts) im thinking of putting low profile tires with 18 or 20 inch rims and doing a disk brake upgrade from the drums its got all around. also redo the interior and get chrome stuff for the 352 v-8. might also do some customization to the body as well as molded lake pipes and a modern sound system (im tired of listening to only am radio...(thats all it gets))

sorry about this quick post but i just read kaemmerite's post fully. i love gundam (it and outlaw star got me into anime originally before eva turned me off for several months) macross is pretty sweat to but i like really super robot kind of fights with inposible amounts of bullets and laser swords. so macros isnt as good as gundam to me but it still rocks in my book. on a side note .//hack and the .//hack games got me into anime again and the latest thing i watched in entirity was iria (cool show but a little graphic in places) but n ow onto so3 no the characters are awesome so far. i love cliff he is a stinking cool muscle head. the plot is so so nothing compared to say chrono trigger, ff6, or skies of arcadia, but its still got me playing it. its got my torn away from ffxi (ranger/ninjas rule!) so thats saying something about its quality. though i dont like the lvl up system and the crafting sytem as well as so2 or so1 i do like the battle system better in this one. feels more action oriented.

Welcome, desperado! Nice ta meetcha! :lick:

I'm not the best person to answer that question. There might, however, be a thread about it in the Tutorials section.

desperado wrote:on a side not can someone give me a breif discription on how to set up the avatar and sig with the pick as most of you have?

For an avatar:
1.Go to "User CP"
2.Go to "Edit Avatar"
3.If the picture is online, enter the url of the picture. If the picture is on your computer, click "Browse," then choose the picture you want.
4.Click "Save Changes"

Keep in mind that the size limit is 90x90 pixels, and 14.6 kb. The picture cannot exceed either of those dimensions.

For a signature pic:
1.Go to "User CP"
2.Go to "Edit Signature"
3.In the text editing window (the top row), there is a small yellowish button with a picture of a mountain on it. Click on that, and you will be prompted to enter the url of the picture you want (unfortunately sig pics must be online rather than uploaded, so you'll have to find a picture that is online, or get someone to host the pic if it is on your computer)
4.Click "Save Signature."

You can also enter include text in your signature. That works is the same was as posting in the forums (through the Edit Signature page).

It's good to have another gamer on the site. I am also a fan of Street Fighter (along with the Capcom vs. games), although I don't play a lot of Japanese rpgs. However, I seem to be in the minority on this site when it comes to that preference. Practically everyone here drools over Japanese rpgs, so you are in good company :eyeroll: ;) .

We have a forum devoted to video games, and I hope that you will check that out.

I also like mecha, especially G Gundam, Macross, Dai-Guard, and Gundam Wing. :thumb:

And welcome to the Alliance... hombre? No... Hmmm..... Give me a moment.... Desperado! That's it. Now where was I? Ah, yes. Welcome to... uh.... whatever... anyway...
Take it like you gave it; what else matters in the end? To be honest, it's all a one-shot test; that leaves plenty of places to go wrong, but how will you ever know? There's a pointer, I will admit. Turn it on, listen to it, feel it burn.

yeah thanks everyone and especially to cbwing0 i was looking for that. Im going to post soon a thread about the car in the general forum so you can know what i want to do and give a little more info about it (am i wrong a lot of people are interested besides i would like to know any other car/anime people here) (i also need opinion on my new dream car of a everyday driver) but anyways i also have a big anime based question. im looking for some new anime that is appropriate, as i said earlier evangelion almost made me quite watching anime so i dont want to stumble upon anything else like it. got any suggestion (my favorites are .//hack, outlaw star, and gundam wing)
