I just want to make it very clear: I love Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood! I love the characters, the story and especially the themes in it. It's what got me back into anime and was the subject of my first Christian nerd blog post. However one thing has always bothered me about it and it was Alchemy. I liked the idea, but I always hated the transmutation circles. They always bothered me because they looked very occultic in my opinion.
Lately, I've been very conflicted about the subject and even somewhat afraid to look into it. On one hand, the way they depict alchemy in the series is not too accurate to real life alchemy, but on the other hand, the transmutation circles are a thing in real life alchemy and reall life alchemy may or may not have connections to the occult.
Can someone with some insight about this help me please?
