Brilliant! I just finished reading the FMA manga volume 4. It's very dark and the odd (sort of negative) view towards religions (and its occultic take on alchemy) sort of put me off at first, but the plot and character developement is some of the best I've seen in cinema, literature or graphic novels.
The 'secret' to what made the Philosopher stone was an astounding piece of plot developement. It's the kind of thing I like to put in my (extremely bad) attempts of literature]
Occultic take on alchemy?
Despite the rather gruesome secret of the Philosopher's Stone, alchemy is treated as a kind of science. That's how I took it anyway.
What is that rule that keeps coming up in FMA? 'Every gain must have an equal loss' or something similar to that...
