I had a six-hour layover while flying home for Christmas, most of which I spent playing Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. Got a fair bit farther!

And I started Myst V: End of Ages. On the one hand, it's great to be playing a Myst game again and figuring out the complex puzzles that always have to do with machines rather than brain teasers. On the other, I'm a little disappointed in the way they went about making this final chapter. I mean...did we really need it to be 3D? Wouldn't it have been better to keep it 2D and fairly static, and focus more on making sharp, detailed textures? Like in every previous game? WASD in a Myst game?! I don't think so! I am also disapoint that they stopped using live-action footage. It feels like a sell-out. No, CG is not capable of conveying the same subtlety of emotion that a real person is. (At least, not back in 2005; L.A. Noire seems to come pretty close.)

So, I'm enjoying it, but I kind of feel like Revelation was the final chapter in a great story and this is the tacked-on sequel :/

During my visit at my brother's house, I played through The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I beat the game yesterday. (*Whew*) That's officially the first Legend of Zelda game I've finished. And for that matter, the second I've ever played. I did play a bit of Ocarina of Time on his 3DS on the way back, though, which would be the third.

Yeah.

Oh, forgot to mention that I've also started Ratchet & Clank with my little sisters. Pretty easy, kinda fun.

And I've only got one song left to beat on Osu! Tatakae! Oendan!

By the way, my first death in that game was by cuccos. (I didn't mean to slash it, and there was no way for me to know that would happen... Let that be a lesson to those wielding swords around farm animals.)

Castle Crashers (Xbox 360). This is a multiplayer side-scroller hack-and-slash with some RPG elements thrown in; I played the whole game through with my brother in 2-player, almost in a single sitting. It’s not terribly difficult, and the stages are fairly simple, since there is only ever one path you can go on; also, it has an amusing mishmash of all sorts of video game clichés (ninjas, aliens, and so on). Most importantly, though, it’s extremely fun to play. The humor in the game is mainly scatological (I’ve never understood the appeal of this), but that’s a rather minor complaint; overall, it was great fun. Recommended.

I’ve also started playing Romancing SaGa 2 (Super Famicom). I’ve heard great things about this game: apparently quite a few people think it is the best of the Romancing SaGa games, which are collectively considered the best out of the whole SaGa series. It’s been great so far, though it is also extremely difficult. But I don’t suppose there’s much of a point in describing it in detail, since it is only available in Japanese anyways and has not even been fan-translated.

Yes! Me too! My brother got it for Christmas (which still doesn't make sense to me because I'm the LoZ fan in my family, not my brother -sigh- Oh, well...) but he's in college. So he let me play it non-stop for a day, and then he had to go back to college... so he left and took it away from me...

So, feeling the need to play LoZ again, I hooked up my N64 and started a new game on Ocarina of Time this morning. I'm also in the middle of Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World (Wii) and Eternal Darkness (Gamecube), but Eternal Darkness freaks me out so I don't play it very often, and although the Tales Of games are among my favorites, they just don't bring my soul the same kind of satisfaction that Legend of Zelda does.

I bought the ICO/SotC collection for PS3 and beat ICO today.

It was pretty good I guess though Yorda is as dumb as a rock and having no camera control for certain jumping puzzles (I'M LOOKING AT YOU LAST SECTION OF THE GAME) was irritating. Oh and them never explaining certain actions you can perform which led to me wandering around an area for half an hour frustrated at how to get past a certain part, only to give up and look up in an FAQ to find out that I had to do something the game NEVER TELLS YOU THAT YOU CAN DO.

To help anyone who may play this game in the future, you can press O to swing on chains. The game never tells you this and neither does the instruction manual. You can now avoid the frustrating rage I felt at this freaking ridiculous crap.

I sort of liked it but honestly it isn't a good game. I'm looking forward to SotC though, I have heard many great things about it, but the horse controls are frustrating so I hope I don't have to fight any of these things on horseback (but part of me goes "You know it's going to happen at least once").

Also it took me like twenty minutes to beat the first colossus because I didn't know what the game wanted me to do and I was going about it the entirely wrong way (tried to climb up its arm instead of its back the first four or five tries).

That's a great collection I love both of those games, despite their flaws. And yes, you will need Agro for a few fights.

I did just the opposite. I finished SotC first and now I'm playing Ico. Here's a tip for the horse controls: you don't need to use the analog stick. Agro will make turns on his own most of the time. It helped me tremendously when I figured it out. Also, if you hold down the X button, Agro won't slow to a trot when you change direction.

I'm also playing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Final Fantasy X, and Dynasty Warriors 5. They're all pretty good, but I think Dynasty Warriors is the best of them. Too bad it's a rental. :(

edit: And though I haven't been playing it, I'm currently watching a Let's Play of Metal Gear Solid.

I'm trying a bit of everything lately: Infamous 1, Batman Arkham Asylum, Soul Calibur 4, Tekken 5. Managed to finish both story modes with Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, so that at least is done now (as far as I'm concerned). Difficult to catch up when everyone is already on the next installment of a game and you're still trying to finish the previous one. Anyone feel like adding me btw, go ahead. My username is the same as on here.

Finally able to play Grand Fantasia again since my other computer crashed. I even got my brother into it. This game is SO FUN!! I like how I was able to get into a very fun and friendly guild, and explore the vast world with my little Fairflower Sprite! (Though I really wish she wouldn't pick up the Cursed Loot XD!!!) I know this doesn't help, but that's explained in the demo, which I played in a store before buying the game *shrug* I'm not saying ICO doesn't have flaws, nor that it can't be frustrating at times - I called a certain glowy princess Partly Smartly for most of the game - but it's still my favorite game. No other game has made me feel so strongly for a character you can't even understand, who is utterly helpless and is more liability than anything else. I think I would even go so far as to say that I love Yorda as if she were a real person.

:thumb: Great choices!

I finished Myst V, which was fun, frustrating, and mostly a pathetic end to the series - but something large and warm exploded in my chest at the ending. Proves how much I love the series, and how effectively it makes you feel like you're actually this family's friend. How much more powerful it would have been with live action....

Finished Osu! Tatakae! Oendan! and went on to the sequel; I've completed the easiest two difficulty levels. Played a bit of Scribblenauts, and ultimately had to leave Ratchet & Clank at home - I'll watch a playthrough to see how it all turns out. And I think I'm getting close to the end of Unwound Future! :jump:

Well, I am level 20 on Crystal Saga now. The cool thing about playing at least one browser based game is that you can play it on ANY computer, since there's no download. I can play anywhere, anytime!

So, I started up a game of Super Scribblenauts; not sure if I'll play it all the way through or just dabble.

I installed Sanitarium but am having tons of frustrating problems because Windows 7 is incredibly stupid when it comes to playing old games :stressed: I'll have to wait until I can get my computer-geek brother to help me out, because even Google isn't helping this time.

To console myself when I got myself all excited about the isometric-ness, I instead played the indie game Beacon. It was fun, but WAY TOO SHORT :(
