D: Also I've never played a Pokemon game where I didn't have at LEAST one Pokemon evolve before I got to the second gym. All my Pokemon are level 13 and up and not a single one has evolved. Unova Pokemon are late evolvers I guess. Must be something in the water.

Nate (post: 1467329) wrote:But really, outside of repeated TM use and the ability to use items in battles with other players...what else is there? Seasons. Okay, that's...something I guess, but not anything big. I find it even less interesting or significant than the introduction of day/night and days of the week in Generation II, and I didn't even mention that as significant when I was talking about the changes Generation II made (because it honestly really wasn't that significant). Oh, and TRIPLE battles! It's like double battles BUT WITH ONE MORE. The excitement is almost TOO MUCH TO BEAR.
Nate wrote:I suppose it doesn't help that most of them just seem like inferior substitutes for previous gen Pokemon. Which admittedly, a lot of previous generations are guilty of too. Patrat is just another Ratatta clone like Bidoof. Pidove is just another Pidgey/Starly. Rogganroll is just another Geodude. Woobat is just another Zubat...heck, even the names are practically the same. Sure, the typing may be different, but they fill the same role. Woobat isn't a Poison/Flying, it's a Psychic/Flying, but it's still "the bat thing that annoys you in caves."
Nate wrote:Eh. I'm getting too involved in this. I'm still having fun with it. I just wish there was something, anything to make it stand out from previous generations. The setting isn't doing it (whose bright idea was it to make fall the first season in the game anyway, shouldn't they have made it oh I don't know, SPRING?), the Pokemon designs aren't doing it, and...there isn't any significant change to the gameplay to make it unique and interesting.

Nate (post: 1468594) wrote:I think Team Plasma is done a bit poorly now that I'm further into the game. It would have been a lot more interesting if they were good people who were misguided rather than evil people. I'm talking about stuff like when they were beating the Munna in Dreamyard, stuff that's clearly evil. The stealing Pokemon thing actually makes sense, and so does what they were doing in Victory Garden, but the Munna thing bugs me, and I feel like it's not the only time they've done something unambiguously evil which lessens their impact to me.
