OOC: Ooohhh! I GET IT!
IC: Maxine smiled at Eric as they walked along. "Yeah, you must be really tired; being a human and all." She teased him.
"That's fine with me, but you really did get the worst part of the deal. Food here-" she snatched two apples as they passed by a fruit stand, "is quite easy to acquire. An admirable trait about towns, I must say. It definitely beats hunting down each meal." she commented as she handed Eric one fruit, and took a bite of the other stolen fruit, thinking nothing of it.
As they walked, Maxine took in the scene of the little town. It was quite picturesque with it's little shops and carts lining the streets. It reminded her of a particular town she had lived in for a year or so, the longest she had lived in one place since the town she had met Kisho, Nazari and Eric in.
"You are aware of my infamy for trouble finding me, right? To this day, I have never stepped into a human settlement where the inhabitants didn't cause trouble for me." She warned him. "I know you were good at getting out of trouble when we were younger, but this is a different playing field now. I just want to make sure you know what you're getting yourself into before it's too late."

Nazari kept his eyes downcast as Spring spoke to him. Why was she saying this? Did Chaucer put her up to it?
His eyes met hers after a couple of seconds, just as the sun began to descend behind the hills.
He felt his heart skip a beat and he froze. She was breathtaking.
He blinked and cleared his throat, diverting his eyes. "Uh-.." He took a breath to regain his composure. "I'm-uh.. I'm glad someone understands." He paused, catching her eye again. "Thanks." The corner of his mouth tugged at a smile as their eyes locked.
This was the first time he really looked at her to see what a beauty she really was.
Maybe he should look her way more often? He smiled. The thought intrigued him.

Conri brought Chaucer to the blanket and laid him down gently. "I'm sure Nate won't let us down. He's a very determined man." He smiled, sitting himself next to the blanket.

Callie frowned at Clara. "Well.. Okay." She sniffed, allowing her large wolf to comfort her.
Dalton smirked at the woman. "Don't flatter yourself." He said, folding his arms with amusement.
As he watched her leave, he commented, "She's looking for Kisho." He turned to Chaucer.
"I planned on it." He said with a smile. He gave Callie a farewell nod, and turned into his raccoon form, dashing off to follow the mysterious woman.

Conri patted Chaucer's shoulder. "I'll take care of her."
As he neared Callie, her wolf lowered his head in a sign of submission. He could sense the powerful coyote in Conri.
"Hey there." He crouched next to the tiny girl.
"Hey there.." She repeated with a sigh, not bothering to look up at him.
"Can I sit with you?" He asked.
She shrugged in reply, continuing to stroke her wolfs head.
He lowered himself to the floor, crossing his legs, and leaning his elbows on his knees. "Are you alright, Callie?"
She sighed again and sat down next to him. "Everyone always leaves.." She looked at Conri with sad brown eyes.
He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at her sad face. He pulled her into a hug and lowered his face close to her ear. "I promise I won't leave you, Callie. No matter what happens."
She sniffed and hugged him tightly. "I believe you."
