What's Your Favourite Tune/s?

I thought it would be fun if people posted/talked about their favourite songs or artists. Can be Christian, non-christian, local stuff, something that makes you bawl your eyes out or ROFL like crazy - whatevs you like and feel comfortable with sharing!

I think I've already mntioned this in my Who's Who thread, but just to reiterate, I'm partial to Jesus Culture, Michael W. Smith and my own church's band (Paradise Band) myself but otherwise I pretty much like anything that takes my fancy, whether it be the odd track from the Blues Brothers film, Skillet, Vivaldi, country rock artists (within reason) and even random Christian techno or reggae tracks I've picked up from YouTube!

Though I must say, some songs I'm particularly fond of are One Thing Remains (by Jesus Culture), Let It Rain (both Michael Smith and J.C's renditions), The Entertainer rag, Shout Unto God (regardless of artist), Amazing Grace (regardless) and I Love a Rainy Night (by Eddie Rabbitt)

Wow, I unfortunately wasn't able to listen to all of these songs you guys posted but from what I did see there's some really diverse and interesting tastes in music here - glad to know I'm not alone, haha!

That's kinda funny, coz I think I'm only up to speed with their more recent stuff (been there 'bout 3 years) & not really familiar with their older music (only just heard a Paradise song with Guy Sebastian as worship leader the other day in my friend's car!)

Anyone know some good classical music for a fella that's into good natured stuff? I'm kinda wanting to expand beyond Vivaldi's Four Seasons atm!

Well I'm not big on Classical music for the most part but I really love Apocalyptica... Not sure if you'd dig it but anyway... it's not pure classical but here are a couple of my favorites anyway: Drive Somewhere Around Nothing. Stay away from the stuff where they get singers to sing with their music... ruins it...

EDIT: I guess I could post my personal favorite stuff... Just about anything from Kamelot post Siege Perilous is pure gold IMO. My favorite songs from them I think would have to be...
Karma, Center of the Universe, Poetry for the Poisoned, Hunter's Season, Abandoned... The Black Halo... Ok I better stop... I could go listing favorite Kamelot songs Forever... Yeah, Kamelot is probably my favorite band Never get tired of their albums and hold a lot of my favorite tunes...

Nightwish: Sleeping Sun, Nemo, End of all Hope, and Everdream
Cradle of Filth: Nymphetamine (don't like this band usually but I love this song)
Sirenia: Sister Nightfall, Shadow of Your Own Self, and In Sumerian Haze (yeah this band never did seem to match that first album )
Van Canto: Fear of the Dark (cover), Take to the Sky, Last Night of the Kings, To Sing a Metal Song, The Quest for Roar

Yeah, that's a "small" sampling from a small sampling of my "favorite" bands... I got to many to post really. But these ones came to mind as getting LOTS of play time recently If you picked through that then you can probably tell I favor metal that makes you feel like you can run to battle alone in your birthday suit or have an atmospheric gothic element to it that's a bit more on the more somber/romanticized side. And then there's Kamelot which is a bit of both and just melt your face off

Ah... correction, my brother's actually got Adore and Paradise CDs... but I'm not very familiar with them. And yep, we've got the old Planetshakers CDs with Guy Sebastian on them! Good times.

Checked those two songs out & they're pretty cool (kinda reminded me of some music I've heard in animes here & there)! I like it when different styles of music can be fused together & done so well, so cheers for that!

I'd be interested, as they seem to be laregly instrumental, to analyse some of those and see what the subtext/intention is. I did a sound project in my video course last year where we had to recreate a story using only sound - no music allowed - some movie soundscape analysis afterwards, and then working on a couple of original sound designs for our own projects towards the end, so I kinda view aural and musical stuff in a whole new light now!
