For other people wondering what Vesari, Oniru and Urnak are, I've got a (mostly completed) set of posts to explain the ZODEAC species concepts. There are four main species that live in this region of Africa, the Vesari, the Oniru, the Urnak and the Ninja Monkeys. However, the Ninja Monkeys do not take part in ZODEAC politics (at least not directly, they may "influence" things with their poo throwing, assassinating, infiltrating 1337 skills though). To put it another way, they live in hidden villages in the forests, but do not directly make contact with the outside civilization for the most part.

The other three species (the ones that I will generally RP) are the Vesari, the Oniru and the Urnak. They make up most of the population if you were to walk around a given city in the ZODEAC. However, while the Vesari are the most populous and the Urnak are the most powerful, it is the Oniru who control the society because of their intense grip on the national economy. Like the merchants in Japan that were labeled the lowest of classes, but ultimately rose above the highest ranked Samurai, they are incredibly cunning with money and use it to pull the strings of the other species like puppets should they desire. They are my first species designed with the OVA system, and I hope that they will be well enjoyed for their various gifts and especially for their flaws.

EDIT: It should be noted that the other eight species represent a minority and some species that may make up the whole of entire nations or the controlling powers may not even be recognized to exist yet within this portion of the world. The second tier of four players may make up occasional NPCs that I RP, but are called a "minority" for a reason, they are very scarce. The remaining four may show up, but only as a single character for an arc and nothing more.

OOC Post Linked to RP

Postby Dante » Sun Dec 26, 2010 9:37 pm

OOC: Let's keep all N&S OOC to this thread so we don't clutter the pages of our other pages. To inform other players of your OCC, just use a ((OOC)) line at the top linked to your post!

Also, for those of you who are confused on various species. I've posted some useful information here. It will contain plenty of other crazy stuff in the near future, [S]such as economics in ZODEAC and my weapon designs (all 25 single-spaced MS word pages worth XD)[/S] EDIT: Never mind, updated. You can add things here as well, but I ask that you try to keep story stuff to the RP and keep things in that thread to thick information only, e.g., this is kind of like the boring encyclopedia of stuff that is too boring for most in the RP environment. That way, looking at this stuff is optional, but it still qualifies as a kind of RP (as we can just link to these things when RPing their design and construction).

Also, as far as the coloring on Perseus' card (For those of you who saw the abomination I did to that card :P). That's non-canon (I'm sure he has an awesome card, I'm really imagining something like this. I just couldn't help myself in doing a little teasing. Perseus is an awesome character, so he must be submitted to Kaligraphic level shenanigans.

My business card psychically imprints onto anybody who looks at it for more than a second, turning people into my dominated slaves.

No, I won't give you one. A box of them costs more than the GDP of some third world countries.

Yep. That. That is an ancient bit of Nations and State Lore, going back to before the first N&S even existed. Even though I didn't get what it meant for quite some time, it actually means, "Code Dental Floss", relating to a character in goof-off, Chairwoman Temulin who escaped my dimension portals via dental floss. (I think it was a MacGyver reference)

Anyways, because it was the only thread in hear, we eventually renovated it out and left it as a kind of place to just hang out and post everything from OOC comments, to shenanigans to full blown battles between our characters.

Feel free to hang out, just don't sit on Kaligraphic's disembodied head or pick up any green glowing boots.

OOC: Ok, so I'm going to use some D12s to determine some situational aspects Septimus - just to let my dice do some determining of what situation I have to RP in my country.

For which Triumvir your character runs into, I will use a D12 (1-4 Urnak, 5-8 Oniru and 8-12 Vesari)

As to whether there are guards there for escort, I will use two D12, 1-9 for guards present (they're high level government officials, 75% chance) or 10-12 for them wanting to take a nice private morning walk (25% chance they'll get away with that)

D12 Results A: 5 - Oniru it is! (Poor fellow is getting all of the crazies lately)
D12 Results B: 7 - Guards are present so you'll have a little company but only two

I bear a message from Pascal!

He sends word that his CAA account is in some kind of weird state where he can't post or read PMs. He's not ignoring you, it's just technical difficulties.
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.

OOC: Just want to note Septimus that none of the characters you are talking to are human. Almost my entire nation is made up of non-humans. For details, see here:

http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=57637

Particularly the picture here:

http://www.christiananime.net/showpost.php?p=1446249&postcount=3

The one on the far left looks like the two officers that you are talking to at the coffee house, while the other two look like the one you grabbed. None are "Hume". As a chimera, you might actually fit in rather well, with or without your cowl. Though a new species would definitely raise a few eyebrows.

OOC: This will be a large multi-combo post created by JM and I last night. It details out the NAP (Non-Agression Pact) between the NHRE and ZODEAC as well as describes the economic purchases that were made. I realize that it is an incredibly long post, but it's not a single author but multiple ones working on it.

For those who say TL;DR, end result is that we purchased out 40% of the NHRE's stocks, ZODEAC said it wouldn't invade Europe or the NHRE's territories if the NHRE did not invade Africa or any ZODEAC territories, we also gave them the piece of mind that we would not be attempting an economic take-over of their nation if they chose to avoid one with us.

Overall, it also marked tensions between the Vesari and the NHRE because of their belligerent actions.

There was a slight mis-communication between JM and I - a great deal of craziness resulted. So our talks were impossible (which is reflected in the RP), but I may as well let my character experience a short vacation in New Jerusalem.

OOC: It's the worlds most elaborate OOC thread, it has outlasted three RPs and will likely outlive the fourth.

Anyways, I wanted to note on this post that it takes place past tense with respect to the next update. I want to do some RPing with JM on Vivian's meeting in New Jerusalem, but have plenty of things I need to do elsewhere in the next section with this character.

As for a final note, if you wanted to know how to greet a Vesari from ZODEAC should you meet one, but the verbal description was a bit vague, there is a visual equivalent. Think the hands next to head motion from Caramelldansen. Then do a light Japanese bow like we all do while answering the phone and I apparently do when completing transactions at stores O_O. Then close your eyes, and for added effect, stick out your tongue and SMILE!

Starting to see why this is going to be a very interesting meeting of cultures?

Golden - haha, no, no worries. I've just been busy lately, but I'm still in the RP.

Also - sorry if some of the behind the scenes stuff I did needed to be public. The GM mentioned something like that. Still figuring out the rules - *offers cookie* Sorry.

(OOC: Yes, I have seized control of Zarn's character and nation (well...old nation at least). He kind of said I could...so I did. Anyway, this was something that's been going on since the beginning of the RP, namely, Zarn and Chaos exchanging blows. The first turn had a couple of epic last stands too where Zarn's entire force got eliminated but was still victorious. But, now he needs help since Chaos has got him in a pretty good lock down. Oh, and...now would be the time to start researching submersible technology like Submarines since you're going to need those to be able to do anything to help Pacifica...yeah...)

The latest post takes place prior to the last update and finished off my interactions between Vivian and Charlie until the next arc... which is inbound shortly after I RP some stuff on ZODEAC shortly. I've decided to take each period as a season, the last event taking place in fall and this one taking place in winter. As to his condition, I'm going to roll a D12 for his health, and two D4 (D3) modifiers.

1 D12 For base score,
2 D4s (D3s by ignoring the number 4)

D12 + (D3 - 1) + (D3 - 1)

The first modifier comes from youthful regeneration, as young people typically heal better then older people. The second one comes from TEMMII. If the acid draws it's source of strength from chaos directly, TEMMII's EDF field should be able to neutralize it, but if I roll a 1, then the other triumvir will shoot down the idea thinking it's too risky.

Total Score
1-3: Dies
4-6: Condition Declines
7-9: Condition Improves
10-12: Complete Recovery

D12 Roll 1 Standard:2
D3 Roll 1 (Youthful Recovery): 3-1 (2)
D3 Roll 2 (TEMMII): 2 -1 (1)
2 + 2 + 1 = 5

So despite the use of TEMMI, his condition continues to decline during this turn, as the EDF system can't acquire a good lock on the acid as it is only minimal chaos enhanced. I'll take another roll of the dice in a while (I'll let JM determine when) to see how he advances from here, but next time I won't be able to use TEMMII no matter what.

I would like to note that I am currently disputing an economic event in N&S, so the stock prices currently listed (and available stocks) may not reflect what they really are. I will post here again when this has been resolved.

In particular, my records show that the Nation of Ark should lack 20 more stocks then it claims to have and ZODEAC only has 40 stocks on the market, not 68. This will likely effect the economic stock market values as well.

I am not sure how this will play out, but I just wanted to post here for the time being to avoid any unnecessary confusion.

OOC: Still no update, I think I may have broken Peanut with too much stuff :(.

But on the latest post (70), given that these things take place during a season for me, I'm kind of double using my character for the events (given that I don't believe one or the other will have the ability to permanently hold him in a location for the whole season). So I hope that this doesn't cause any confusion overall. I try to label each of my posts according to their arc, so that they can be told apart if not by context then by name.

Hopefully we can begin work on building some good relations between our nations.

OOC: Ok, so I now have an update, Peanut hasn't changed my stock prices (so buy 'em while they're cheap), but you can bet that only 40 are available. Arcs stocks have also been resolved.

On the post however, I wish to note that I rolled 3 dice for the Triumvirs as to whether to help Zarn out or not. The Urnak never turn from a fight that often, so any number at 6 or below would result in their vote to help Pacifica fight it's war on Chaos. Gildas would be mostly interested in how they could profit from this economically, and the war wouldn't be that much of an interest, so it would be mildly important but he felt he could lean either way at 4 and below. Finally, Vivian I felt would be motivated by their plee for help as this isn't a request to aid in a war against sentient beings but against a global menace, so he also had any number at 6 or lower. I rolled 3 D10s to determine this with the following scores:

4
0
2

Apparently ZODEAC is going to defend Pacfica against the Chaos. If anyone else wants to help in defeating this common threat, then I'd love to work with you in completing this joint task for our future. In the factbook, I've also given some details on the structure of the army in ZODEAC at the current time (as our military grows so will this, although it may be updated on IC more then it is on there and updates will not always be role-played so that my RP doesn't transform into "Hey, I have more tanks! Tanks are COOL"). As you can imagine, all of this is classified information - but I wanted to provide a reference for everyone in case I start throwing around acronyms, that way you can look back and see what in the world I'm talking about.

Double post, sorry. And sorry for the late reply Pascal.
You're all so patient, I should make you all sandwiches and cookies. D:

Anyways, kind of back, though I'm still lacking a laptop. But while I try to figure out a solution for it, I'm borrowing time on a shared desktop, so I should be able to keep up with things for the most part (though, school starts on Tuesday. XD Nicely, timed, I know.) But, I don't anticipate any other bumps in the road.

I'm happy my nation didn't go into a revolution while I was away, at least. >.<
