My Anime Club's new blog~!

Postby minakichan » Sun Nov 22, 2009 9:51 am

You may have noticed the recent new link in my siggy, but yeah. My university anime club just started a blog! It's called "miteiru!" which means "to look" and also happens to be a pun on MIT. I'm one of the primary authors (using the pseudonym Jennifu), along with other club members.

I'm pretty excited about it because I've wanted to do some real hardcore blogging instead of random LJ ramblings. The blog covers a lot of topics-- general observations about anime and manga, otaku culture, reviews, MIT-related stuff, and info on some of our club's recent escapades. There's not much there yet (my most recent entry is the only one with content), but please check it out! And suggestions and stuff are great <3

blog address: http://anime.scripts.mit.edu/miteiru Shorter URL (hopefully) coming soon!

Though I've never seen Haruhi, that paperweight was made of win. The entry about MIT in anime was pretty funny too.

Thanks for the views and ads =w= This is kind of a sellout-y request, but do you guys mind making some comments on the blog itself, just to seed it? You don't even need to register-- anonymous commenting is allowed. I ask because the only comments we've had on the blog are from the authors themselves, and that's a little embarrassing ._.;;; I'd appreciate it!

Anyway, there's a new post today! I'm going to cover some of the events we've run this past semester, so there's a (one month late) report on our Halloween party, my cosplay adventures in Salem, and pumpkin carving tips.

As usual, find it at http://anime.scripts.mit.edu/miteiru !

I must say, based on your club's showings, your club is cooler than the anime club at my school in every way except the name.

My suspicion is that it's a spinoff of our computer science club's end of term dinner, even more cleverly called the Club That Really Likes Dinner (CTRL-D).

Get it? Get it? HA HA HA.

I thought it was cute......... ._.;;;

Anyway, blog has a new entry-- one of our members spent a summer in Japan and writes a report on some of his experiences in its otaku hotspots. Also, we have a new, shorter URL! It's at http://miteiru.mit.edu (or http://animeblog.mit.edu for those who can't remember multisyllable Japanese words).

Long time no update!

A Certain Scientific Analysis, in which my friend with too much time on his hands analyzes the science behind the electrical powers in the anime To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.

Beware, it's full of math equations. Still very interesting though; I hated freshman physics, but it's kind of fun to see it applied to anime ^^.
