Artemis Fowl

Has anyone else read any of the Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer? I thought they were pretty good. They made me laugh too, which is always a big plus. :thumb:

I read the first one, but didn't get my hands on anymore. I liked what I read, though.

Yeah, I really liked the third one too, but the 2nd might be my fave.*ponders* I was kinda hoping for a different ending than what the 3rd had, but I like the fact that the ending left an opening if the author ever wanted to continue the series.

I had heard something about them making an Artemis Fowl movie. Is that just an unsubstantiated rumor?

I loved that series! I just bought the first one a couple of days ago at waldens! I would have bought the whole series but they only had 1 and 5. I like buying books in the order they come in. I can't remember what happened in three and that was the last of that series that I COULD FIND OR READ. They ROCK!!!!

Ooh, I love the Artemis Fowl series. I have all three, and they're great.

I have only read the first one, I picked it up before the others even came out. I liked it a lot, but I just haven't had a chance to read the other ones yet. I heard that they were making a movie of Artemis Fowl, but that may have just been a rumor on the net.

I liked the entire series of "Artemis Fowl" books so far. While I think "The Arctic Incident" is still my favorite, "The Opal Deception" is right up there with putting more twists into the series. I'll be interested to see if there is more, or if Eoin Colfer plans to leave it with the bit-more-satisfying ending than "The Eternity Code" had.

I've read one - the second, I think it was. Seeing all your praise, it looks like I should read the others also.

I've read all three. And loved them all to death. I was really kinda saddened by the ending of the third, though. I don't know - maybe I'm just a sap, but I loved it how little Artemis' heart was getting soft. And
with his memories gone, he reverted right back to his old evil self. Not cool in this least. And even the nice little hint about Artemis getting his memories back and such wasn't enough to soothe me...
I really really really really hope Colfer writes another one for the series. But I have a feeling he may not - he's already gone on to other stuff (which has all been excellent, let me tell you).

I read The Arctic Incident and we have both that and The Opal Deception in our library now in the YA section.
A lot of people think Artemis Fowl is a ripoff of Harry Potter but when you read the two series you realize it isn't.
