XD You're right about that. I think there are some reasons for this. First, my friend is jaded when it comes to MMO's. Since he's played a lot of MMO's, I think he has a set idea of what he wants from an MMO, and when it doesn't deliver, he simply doesn't play it. I think that overall we have similar tastes, but my friend is more firmly set in his opinions than I am. However, I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing, just one that's tough to have when you're looking for a free MMO.
Also, I think both of us we're less-inclined to try MMO's we viewed as more "casual," like a snowboarding or golfing MMO. This did, of course, limit our searching, but it was a mutual decision and we took the consequences for it.
Second, I delivered all of these suggestions to my friend over the phone, using the summaries provided in this thread. I'm uncomfortable speaking over the phone, and I don't usually communicate effectively while talking on it, so that might have lent to the rejection of the suggested MMO's.
Third, I'm a fairly submissive person most of the time, and my friend's more of a leader, especially when it comes to situations like searching for MMO's. My friend usually suggests the MMO's that we try, and honestly, we would have probably have a found an MMO we both liked a long time ago if my friend's computer hadn't been so hopelessly inept at running MMO's.
Really, my friend and I were searching for a free MMO to serve as an alternative when we both couldn't afford to use a pay-to-play MMO, and thankfully we managed to get enough money to start playing City of Heroes again. I apologize that I wasn't able to play the suggestions on this thread with my friend. Thanks a ton for the suggestions, and I'm ever in need of a free MMO, I know where to look!
