Cleaning a MacBook keyboard

I have a question about cleaning a MacBook laptop keyboard. I know it is possible to clean a normal keyboard in the dishwasher or under the tap. Is it possible to remove the MacBook keyboard and give it a rinse under the sink or with some distilled water? I think I've taken the keyboard off once before. It's not too difficult.

I work in CS of a university, and normally what we do for macbook keyboards is just take the keyboard out and spray it with class cleaner, like Bon Ami. It seems to work well for us, so -shrugs-.

Wash a keyboard in a dishwasher?

I pull the keys off and wash them individually.




The iBooks used to have a removable keyboard. Don't know about the new ones though...

I like to pull the keys off of keyboards individually, too. You can put them in a garlic bag and run 'em in the dish washer, too. But be careful of the ink! It's sometimes easier to wash them on their own.

Huh. I haven't yet tried pulling the keys off of my MB pro. Is there a specific and safe way to pull the keys off?

Hmm... I haven't pulled the keys off my MBP keyboard, either. I'm a little nervous, actually. Anyone have pictures and happy reports?

Haha... uhm.
I never attempt to pull anything off any macs. They're expensive and me and expensive things don't work well.

BUT, I've wathced a few people at work do it with ease, and it always ends happily. There was some kind of trick that made things easier... I'll check it out tommorow and let yall know.

I popped all the keys of a MS keyboard and just used paper towels and Windex.

Also, I tried popping a key of my Dell laptop. One of the microscopic tabs broke off... So, I gave up on cleaning that.
