Yes I have a job and go full time to college. I actually haven't played much brawl, at least compared to my sisters. How do you unlock Sonic? Every thing I have read says that you unlock him by finishing SSE or by playing 400+ vs. matches. I left my 6 year old sister playing the game one day, and when I had come back, sonic was unlocked. SSE is 5% complete and vs matches are at 115. It was quite weird.

I agree with you about samus, she was one of my favorites in melee. Now, however, her fall speed is really slow. You jump in the air and it takes half a minute to hit the ground again. I don't think zamus makes up for it either.

There's another way to unlock Sonic that people don't know. It's reported that some people have played as little as less than 50 vs matches and were still able to unlock Sonic.

And I like the changes to Samus. I don't think it's just her that changed. The overall gravity has lowered since melee, which I enjoy because it gives more opportunities for air combos.

As for Snake, he was extremely hard to get used to. But now that I figured out some good combos with him, I'm getting relatively better with him.

As for my default character, Fox and Wolf both seem to be my character of choices.

I just don't seem to change, do I? XD

I also like Samus more in this game. I never used her in Melee but now I do a lot more now. Lately I've been preferring to play as the Pokemone Trainer. Being able to switch between a small and fast character (squirtle) and a large and powerful character (charizard) on the fly is really handy. I also like playing with Olimar, though he's difficult to use properly. With a little practice tossing his pikmin around, though, he can be pretty effective.

I unlocked every character two days ago.

Sonic is definitely my main. Fast characters have always been my strong spot in Smash and it carries over to Brawl.

Contrary to popular belief, Wolf is actually pretty different from the other to space pilot/animal/beast/things. He's considerably slower, his A moves are about 90% different from them, and he just feels different when I use him.

Suprisingly, I actually like Zelda this time around. In Melee all I used was Sheik, but in brawl it seems like Zelda was upgraded some. I still like Sheik better, but at least Zelda isn't quite as annoying as last time.

So far my favorites are:
Sheik
Pit
Zero suit samus(zamus)
Zelda

I am not too thrilled with Samus because she is so slow, so I normally play as Zamus from the start, but the problem with that is the smash ball. Either my opponent gets it and I (generally) die, or I get it and turn into Samus, which I don't want. It's almost as annoying as being forced to listen to Miley Cyrus... well maybe not that bad...

Also, on a slightly unrelated topic, has anyone seen pink Zamus? She looks like a barbie with a laser gun. Joy. Next thing you know Mattel will pick up on the idea and "Bounty Hunter Barbie" will hit the shelves, adding to Barbie's huge list of occupations, and Ken will be stuck with his title of "Shaving Fun Ken" Poor Ken.

That was him. He's a trophy, along with most of the main Sonic crew. Jet the Hawk from Sonic Riders even got in there as a trophy somehow.

I like Toon Link but uh...how are you supposed to knock people off the stage with him? The only move I can tell that has any launching properties is the Up Smash attack but that's pretty limited...

I have all the characters unlocked and every stage except Green Greens unlocked.

Also for anyone who's wondering an easy way to get the CDs to unlock all the music, I have found a fantastic trick.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=qN5qnUpWA_Q

The trick is set the items to sandbags only. Be aware that apparently the drop rate for CDs in the American version though is insanely lower than the Japanese version though. Even with this method I still only was able to get three CDs in about five minutes. Still a heck of a lot faster than waiting for them to randomly spawn though.

Dang it, I was gonna' post this today.

Yeah, its really helpful. I've gotten about 20 CDs in about 30 minutes of so. I'm just waiting to get the rest of the Sonic tracks I need, cause thats pretty much all I have left to get, it would look like.

Yeah, you're right. He doesn't have very many good KO moves, but a few of his moves are actually pretty strong though. Like you said, his up smash is good, and his side smash is also really powerful. You actually have to hit A again after the first smash and he follows it up with a second, more powerful smash which can KO at around 60-90%]

PS: I can't seem to unlock Wolf, does anyone know how.

Wolf's hidden in one of the levels...I think it's near the end of the swamp though I'm not sure...anyway, MSP's copy has been in my Wii since he got and I too love it...my favorite characters so far are Meta Knight and Sonic. And today I stumbled upon an interesting trick with Sonic...turns out you can use his spring to jump out of both of his B spin attacks. Not only is this cool, but it also might be the solution to his inability to kill people at medium damage...though so far all I've been able to do with it is sometimes get close to an enemy and cause like...4% damage to them...still it's a fun trick.

Finally got the hang of Wario (who I refuse to play in his Wario Ware getup), so now I can actually play real matches without spamming Pit's side B.

The SubSpace Emissary is surprisingly enjoyable. I'm taking my time with it though. Currently in the middle of the obligatory Fire Emblem level. I would have loved to see Kaptain K. Rool as the boss of the DK stage, though. I mean, the Ruined Zoo had

If memory serves me, he's hidden near the end of the Ruins level in SSE. There's a door that you go in and you fight him to unlock him. Alternately, you can get him after 450 brawls, or by beating Boss Battles mode with Fox or Falco.

Oh! Another neat trick I learned today, completely by accident!

For those who don't know, one of the challenges is to get a total of 400 Max Combos between all your characters in training mode. This seems almost impossible, given that some characters (like Lucario) are horribly craptastic at getting any combos. However, I found a secret to get higher combos for these characters.

When you get to choose the stage to train on, choose the Halberd (Meta-Knight's stage). Wait until the platform lands on the Halberd itself, and wait for the targeting icon of the laser to appear. Make sure the computer character is on "Control" or "Wait." Get right beside them, wait for the laser to confirm the spot, and then jump out of the way, and let it nail the computer character. It counts toward your Max Combo count, and with this technique every character will have a 32-34 Max Combo. The Ouendan trophy is then won easily.

In Melee, Young Link's best kill moves were actually his up and down air, and that appears to be the case for Toon Link as well. I played one match with him the other day, and was actually quite impressed with him.

You can also use a custom stage with high walls, corner them as Kirby, and tap tab the A like crazy.

My friends and I have taken to designing small throw-away stages specifically to meet certain challenges, such as combos or coin collecting.

Yeah, I'm no stranger to making custom stages for specific challenges... :p Having a small area to beat up a (non-controlled) human opponent made the 5,000 coins one a breeze.

For the fifty hours of brawling one my plan is to set up two human opponents on Final Destination, no items, Stock match, one life, and leave it sitting overnight, then wake up and KO the other dude and turn off the system. XD I figure if I do that every night this week I'll get 50 hours pretty easily.

As for the 1,000 KO challenge, Final Destination, baseball bats only, stock match, 99 lives, non-controlled human opponent. It'll take a while but it's still faster than any other method.

Does anyone happen to know how many stages there are total? I've unlocked all of the characters, and I am now wondering how close I am to unlocking every stage...

If you've got enough controllers you could set three non-controlled human opponents. That's what I did for the coin challenge. It would probably go much faster.

Anyway, I played an extensive amount of online brawling with strangers last night, and during my internet excursions I noticed something slightly troubling.

Ike spammers.

Yes, I happened upon countless unidentified opponents who used Ike match after match after match, sitting more or less in one spot and spamming his c-stick smashes. D: It wasn't very cool.

On the upside, though, despite all the Ikes running amuck, I managed to pull off more wins than losses. Out of the 20 or so matches I played I think I won about 13 or 14 of them. Is there some record of your online brawling stats? I don't think there is... but this is a game that could really use it.

Toon Link is my definite main now. His up smash and his side smash are great for KOs. I don't know if this is the same for Link, but I noticed that you can charge up TL's up B spin attack. Thought that was pretty neat.

Lol. I had no idea what "Norfair" was. Initially I though you missed a space in there for "Nor F Air". I had to look it up to realize that it was a map.

Regardless, you are on.

Curious, though. Why no Fox?
