Yeah... you guys get more preparation time... V_V"
But if there weren't different time zones, then no one could travel around the world and end up celebrating two Christmas days in one year! ;)

Yay! *Is happy someone called her a kiwi* Dunno why it makes me happy... just does. :sweat:
Although I have to say, you might not realise it, but you're really lucky to be American. ^_^ There's good things about every country, but generally it's hard to see them when it's your own country. I mean... you get WAY more manga and anime than us! And your dollars worth more than ours! T_T ;)

Anyway, I think this question has been broached before, but does anyone know what they're writing about?

Aw, make no mistake, I love living here. Sure, there's definitely problems but I'm willing to bet you get that with any country.

*drags back on topic*

So, anyone have ideas for their plots?

*hugs Soph* Hey, but you guys have cool nicknames like Kiwi! :grin: So don't feel too bad.

*ahem*

My story is plotless. I have a few loose this and that's to get it going in the right direction, but I'm leaving everything open, and I'm just gonna run with it and ramble along as I go. I have some pieces of diologue I'm dying to use, too XD

Well knowing you it's going to be hilariously random... Have you looked at the Dares thread yet? It's hilarious so I'm going to try to stuff alot of dares into my story XD

I'm preeeetty sure my story is going to be about my Gatemasters, who are a near dead race who can move throughout space (not in the outer space sense of the word. o3o) using a network of "doors". But aside from that. I do not know where I'm going to go with it. ^^;

I guess I"ll find out in November! XD;

Dares thread? I haven't heard of it either, but it sounds interesting. I echo Felix: 'What is it?'
Yeah, I like the name 'Kiwi'! ^^

I'm glad you like living there. ^_^ It's true]

As in, 'cheesy clouds'? XD ;)

The gatemaster's idea sounds good, Kokoro. ^^ Very interesting. I think you can post excerpts on the site... I'd love to see some of yours in November, and hopefully I'll be able to post some random, funny, interesting excerpts up of my own. :lol:

Me, I'm going to try and pursue writing a few ideas that've been stuck in the back of my head for ages, like I said earlier. One about small animals... another about people with wings and races and stuff... but if I get bored I might just break off and start a long speel about random nothings. ^^ I don't even know if I'll end up writing on what I plan to write yet. I'll just have to see when Novemeber comes around. :grin:

Lol! ^^

Hmm... quick check list of things I plan to do to prepare for Na No Wri Mo:

1: Figure out a rough average of how many words I'll need to write per day.

Hmm... 50,000 divided by... *checks computer calender :sweat: * ...30 = ...*uses computer calculator* 1666.66(recurring).
So about 1667 words per day. All right.

2. Find out about that text-scrambling program they mentioned to stop plaigarism: where to download it, and to download it.

looks at site and reads:
[quote="nanowrimo site"]7) Write like crazy for thirty days. If you write 50,000 words of fiction by midnight, local time, November 30th, you will be added to our hallowed Winner’s Page, and receive a handsome winner’s certificate and web icon. The adding of your name to the Honor Roll of Winners requires that you send in a version of your novel in text format (scrambled for security) to our site to be counted.

8) This is not as scary as it sounds either, and we'll post step-by-step instructions on how to upload your novel to our team of superpowered computational robots (flown in from Germany every year) starting in mid-November. [/qoute]

Decides finding a text-scrambler isn't needed.[/i]

That's all I can think of to do for preparation. Anyone else think there'll be anything else to do to prepare?

Man it's almost Nov.! I've been planning alot, and I've been practicing writing fast too. It turns out it's quite possible to write 2000 words a day, but I'm having a hard time of it if I'm not totally inspired. .___. It'll be interesting to push through even when I don't feel like writing. Plus I really WON'T be able to write certain days, so I'll have to write double on certain days.

Yeah. I think the only really important preparation is maybe to let people know you're going to be stressed out with writing, if you have other important commitments... and to figure out about how many words you should write per day.

Yeah, pushing through is hard. Another thing I've decided is that even if I don't reach the 50,000 word mark, at least I'll have written a lot; and maybe I can try to beat the number of words I do this year next year, if I participate then. Also... I'm not sure if I'll end up aiming to get to 50,000 words at all costs... I may end up just using this as an excuse to make myself write some quality writing on the stories I've neglected. Who knows? :grin:

That's exactly what I was thinking! I don't know if I'll be able to hit 50,000, but this is still a good excuse to get a lot of writing done. And if I haven't finished by the time November's done, I can just continue working on my story after that point, and take a little more time to edit stuff. Either way, it'll be a productive month ^_^

While it's so cute. ^^ AND it's animated! :grin:

At the moment I've been in a bit of a rut in writing; but eh. I'm hoping once Nov comes along things will flow along better. ^^ Actually, I'm looking forward to it, since it's rekindled my passion and interest in the story idea I plan to write on during WriMoNaNo. At the moment it's hard to keep myself from starting the story already! :grin:

I know ^^; Same here. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep my interest in this story up. Usually I start a story RIGHT after I think of it and write like crazy, then lose interest when I'm about halfway through it and end up dropping the story. I'll have to find a way to overcome that for this.

I know what you mean. Maybe forcing myself to write will help me to overcome that obstacle. I think the hardest part is when you run into those parts where you know what happens next, but need to write some boring 'filler' in between to reach that next, exciting part. In the past I've found that inserting something a little unexpected can help me to get my interest in it back up, and also make that potentially-boring part far more interesting. E.g, in one story my main character had to watch a new report on TV to tie into the next part of the story; I was dreading writing it until I came up with the idea to have my character accidentally throw the remote at the TV instead of pressing the button. Sounds random... but it actually tied into the story well, since the character was a heroine who was used to throwing things like throwing stars at enemies.
It doesn't always work... but it can help break up the monotony. ^_^

I mentioned the dares thread earlier, but I don't know if I actually posted a link:

http://www.nanowrimo.org/modules/newbb/ ... &forum=152

If I ever hit a wall during NaNo I might just browse through that thread and find something fun to spruce the story up. So far I've taken the dares:

- Use the line "I'd rather be hated than boring"
- Base an entire scene around cooking an egg.

and my friend at school just said this hilarious line that I'm going to use - "I was just practicing my come-hither glances." .... ok, so it was more funny in context. W/e <.<;;

Even out of context that's still pretty darn funny. :grin: Good idea; and it's great to have the link to that thread. When you mentioned it earlier I thought it was a thread on CAA.
