Is .hack//legend of the Twilight (anime) okay for me?

Postby midori45 » Sun Oct 22, 2006 11:27 am

I want to know if the Anime is okay. I read the review for the .hack//sign and my parents were okay with it, so is Legend of the Twilight nearly identical? I already read the manga and my parents say it's fine, but I can't find a review for the anime. Help! :?:

I've seen all of Legend of the Twilight twice through, and yeah, I'd say it was ok for you (though I'm not sure of your age). It's quite clean, aside from a few off-color references and situations (the lead male falls into a woman's chest, the lead male has a "crush" on the character his sister is playing in The World, which makes for some uncomfortable situations). Though I don't know your age, I can assume that you're anywhere from 13-15, so yeah, I'd say it was clean enough for you.

To be precise their parents divorced which was why Shugo wasn't sure at first who Rena was as they hadn't been together for several months.
btw:They're actually twins although Rena calls Shugo 'Big Brother' a lot.

So he had a crush on her when he didn't know it was his sister?

Rena's outfit is a typical MMORPG female character outfit (hardly anything is covered). So at first Shugo is like "Waaaaah!" when he sees her and before she says who she is, because of the character's outfit. They do have a slightly wierd relationship though, I swear he has a sister complex and she has a brother complex, but nothing ever comes from it. I have also watched this show twice and I would said it is appropriate for anyone 13 and older, although there is quite a bit of fanservice in it. Personally I think Balmung makes this show worth watching.

Again remember they haven't seen each other in the real world since the divorce of their parents. Also remember when they meet the first time in the World it's in character so of course Shugo doesn't recognize who Rena is at first.Btw:She's more advanced than he is when they originally play because she read the manual which he totally forgot to do so she has to help him at first.

To answer another question bluntly, no, it isn't like Sign. Sign's plot and characters were considerably more complex then those of this series. Twilight is much lighter and has a good deal more comic relief in it. Much of that relief is of a rather lewd, although fairly innocent nature as the main character has a fairly, um, healthy attraction to the opposite sex.
