Manga Needs a Free Site

Hi. I have a comic, That's Life!, and it is hosted right now on Drunk Duck. Drunk Duck is a free site, one of the few i could find, that hosts comics.

I believe that for people like me, who are surviving paycheck to paycheck, there should be a site that will host us for FREE.

yes, you read right. Christian Anime needs to be gotten to the world. if we, as christian artists, or just christians who love anime band together, and each contribute to a site where art that glorifys God can be put, and viewed for free, then God can reach even the poorer people through art they can love.

i dont know how this will happen, but i hope that someone some where has the money or the server to get this idea off the ground.

well, i posted a nice bit about the manga, but i cant find it.

So here goes again.

My manga is about a boy who's brother is his life. He loves his brother, and his brother goes to college, so the boy, Lucian, feels a little lost. To help him with that, his brother has left him a fairy, and the fairy, *being a messenger of God, not some magic creature*, helps him by praying to God to teach him how to be a good person, and how not to fall into his brother's path of drugs, violence, and women.

he gets sent by God to the past, 300 years past in fact. there he learns how to live, and how to be the person God wishes him to be.

I saw your homepage. So do they really host comics for free? I'm going to look into this straight away! I would love to have hosting for mine so I don't have to worry whether Geocities would close down my page! 0.o hehehe

You had some comments on your website that I wanna address. Don't take criticisms personally or get discouraged by it. Most ppl mean it well and only want to help you get better! Well, ppl at CAA can vouch for that, I'm sure! After all, there's always room for improvement even for the best manga artists out there.

Yeah, there will always be ppl who are not very tactful with their opinions and criticisms or some who just want to maliciously make you feel bad. How to differentiate who's sincere and who's not? aha...there's when you need the Holy Spirit to help you.

BTW, speaking of the Holy Spirit, may I present a suggestion? Instead of having a 'fairy' to assist your character through difficult times, why not just present the Holy Spirit as Himself? After all, that is the Truth. The older brother can tell the little cute one, "Hey, little bro, ain't always gonna be around for you. But I know who will. Let me introduce you to the Holy Spirit, the Friend who's always been there for me, the Amazing Gift of God." I believe that would bring a boost to the Christian element in your manga. Ppl all over the world need to know about the Holy Spirit! ^^

I like the idea of your story (simple and yet so important, touching issues of real life, I love simplicity!). ^^ Let me know what you think about my suggestion, OK?

I will have the Holy Spirit as himself!!! *mind you he will come in dove form, so there is a picture to draw when he talks* But thats exactly what my manga needs!!! i want more Christ in my manga, and you have found me the perfect way to do it.

Try looking into Keenspace. They do free webhosting. I'm sure there are some restrictions but it may be worth looking into.

Well, been thinking bout your idea, MichiruT. since i was going to use a dove as the visual aid for the Holy Spirit, I thought that a combo of scriptures bout the Holy Spirit and the following storyline would be just as potent to spread the message. what do you think?


so heres the low down. first off: God gets a starring role in this. no magic, just "Gift" from God. Holy Spirit comes to boy in form of Fairy *made as an earthly vessel for him, kinda like a visual aid* given to him by his brother. Fairy sees boy going down wrong track, takes him to a place where he can learn to live the simple life while seeing whats important about life

oh. and we have gotten way, way off the subject of getting a free comic hosting site for manga artists. so just to get back to that......there should be one so that christian anime has a main site where one can read dozens of the mangas for free
