I find it kind of funny and ironic that certain "less painful" scenes would be more graphic than other "more painful" scenes.

A sword or blade plunged into somebody's lung/stomach/artery(neck or torso)/heart would result in death. But for some reason it's less graphic than cutting somebody's hand or arm off XD Which isn't as fatal.

Just thought I'd let you people know, Trinity Blood's manga is being published by Tokyopop.

As I said at the Dual forum I am rather shocked and surprised how much I am liking these two series.Bleach is understandable what with Michelle Ruff as Rukia and Kate Higgins as one of Ichigo's sisters. The one that surprised me is Trinity
Blood.Better than expected.
btw:Was it just me or was there a hint in last week's episode that Father Abel used to serve in the military with the rank of Lt.Colonel?

It was the episode in which the Star of Sorrow was activated, correct? I'd say that it did a great deal more than just hint. From everything he says near the end, if you pay attention to the important details between the numbers and technical terms, certain things become pretty clear.

Don't worry. I have been trying to get any info about the ratings and so far, I haven't came up with anything.

I will post it in the The network TV: anime schedule and schedule changes thread, if I find anything.

Thank heaven for the Fix! Staying up to watch Trinity Blood and Bleach was making it hard to get up for church.

But TB takes it a step further and has shown some bloodied, dismembered heads if I recall. If done with a dark overtone (which TB definitely has), that'll get you a TV-MA rating pretty much every time. (Heck, certain episodes of Gits and EVA got the TV-MA for less.)

That's not to criticize your standards of gore, uc. But to most of mainstream America, a death by sword resulting in a bloodied, dismembered head will probably be more graphic than, say, a death by a sword through the stomach with very little blood.

Yea i have to agree Trinity blood Was really bloody. (Please not i am going on the actualy dvd version not the AS version) In the first episode someone
is cleaved right in half then gets his heart ripped out and poped.
I don't mind gore but that surprised me to see that much gore in something that (on the back of the dvd box) only got TV-14

I kind of enjoyed Trinity Blood. I really liked that is had a different type of storyline than the other animes in its genre. And yeah I do see a connection between Vash and Father Abel.

As for Bleach its ok but a little kiddy to me I don't know I'll try watching some more before making a full statement on it.

Watch ep 5 of Trinity blood last night.

It wasn't a blood ep at all. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great too.

I still liking Trinity Blood, but I just hope it picks up a little now.

It won't be too many hours until the next episode of Trinity Blood comes on. The last was the one where I stopped watching previously, so I will probably begin again with the Adult Swim showings. Chances are I won't watch the next Bleach episode, though, for the already-stated reasons.

Wingzero22 wrote:I still liking Trinity Blood, but I just hope it picks up a little now.

Agreed. The first volume of the manga stops just after the last episode (it doesn't have the first two entirely) and I'm not sure where the storyline moves after that. As I see it, the first episode is introductory, the second intentionally moves in a different direction, then they do a multi-part episode. That is a typical beginning for a series like this, and thus it is also the point where I'll start formulating a more developed opinion of the plot.

Since Trinity Blood is a TV-MA title, I'm assuming it's unedited. Does this mean we can expect a review of it from you in the future?

I didn't have any intention of writing one, but I guess that isn't an unreasonable assumption. If I am motivated to watch the entire series, which I suspect will be the case, I will try to write a review when it is completed. Having that in mind will change how I view it somewhat, but that is alright.

WingZero22 wrote:Don't worry. You didn't miss too much. I don't mean that in a bad way, it was just one of those eps that was all talk, no action.

This episode disappointed me. I have nothing wrong with an episode without any action, but I felt as though the plot wasn't advanced enough, or at least not significantly enough. Not that the episode didn't have its good moments.

It seemed to be primarily concerned with introducing various characters. Not that it's really a bad thing.
Although, hopefully, we'll see more of the main plot next episode.

That surprises me as well. I guess it's partly a thing of the networks and distributors being able to rate their own shows, so by nature the same standards aren't going to apply across the board (which is a real problem with the TV ratings system, IMO, but that's for another topic). But still... that seems pretty graphic.

rocklobster wrote:Since Trinity Blood is a TV-MA title, I'm assuming it's unedited.

Not necessarily. Because Adult Swim is on basic cable, there are certain things that even with a TV-MA rating they won't be able to get away with. In the case of at least one other anime that received TV-MAs for some episodes (that being EVA), they said there were some things they had to cut, though they were trying to run it as close to uncut as possible.

I don't know if that's the case with Trinity Blood; it may be running uncut on AS. But I would recommend researching it to make sure that's the case, before you would write a review assuming that it's uncut just because it's TV-MA. ;)

On this last episode(Saturday)on Trinity Blood we learned a bit more of Father Abel's background and in particuliar his relationship to Lady Catherina. My favorite scene though was when Sister Esther gets lost in the Vatican Gardens and comes
face to face with Pope Alexander and thinks he is just some normal kid crying.

Bleach seemed to center mainly around Chad.He seems to be one of those people that others think are just brawn and no brain, though he also showed some chivalry in that he stood up to the Hollow(even though it was invisible to him)and was willing to help Rukia out.As a secondary character Chad looks to be interesting and I would love to see more of him being teamed with Rukia and Ichigo.

Most of the time the editing is done to cut extra scenes out and save the time for
more commercials. Some times it may actually be done for content, but mainly it seems the editing is simply so they can get extra commercial time, which btw is why they almost never air the Inuyasha opening themes.

I'm actually surprised I like Trinity Blood. I don't normally watch horror because it's so cliche-ridden. The fact that my favorite horror anime is Boogiepop Phantom proves this. Definitely an unconventional series.
