Official box art is out for 8 of the launch window games:

Personally, I really like the look of the Red Steel art.
Will insert something intelligent here later... maybe

Oh, Nintendo, everyone says you're the cheapest system, but you keep finding ways to destroy gamers wallets. In addition to 60 dollar controllers, now it turns out that the Opera browser for the Wii is going to cost money.

However, the browser will be free until June of 2007. So if you buy a Wii after then, well, have fun shelling out more cash.

Who in their right mind would wait until June? XD And I thought the controller alone were just 40... oh but then there's the nunchuck too.. :/ They should sell the nunchuck and remote together for 40 instead.

Well, the problem is, Nintendo has to make a profit on the stuff they sell. Microsoft and Sony have enough money that they can afford to throw it away; Nintendo doesn't. So they have to sell each console at a profit, and that means the remote too. And that stuff ain't cheap. XD;;

Anyway, so did anyone else hear about the potential prospect of say, Kingdom Hearts 3 coming to the Wii?

This is true, and I suppose I'd rather shell out cash for something more optional like a controller than have to buy a bigger wallet just for the system itself. At any rate, I'm not complaining, it'll be worth it.

Oh? I hadn't heard that. That would be freakin cool though. (I still need to play the first two <.< >.>)

I had heard that there would be a new Starfox in development though. Now, not that I dislike SF Command in any way, but it would be really cool to see it go back to the N64 formula.

Well, Square-Enix is in a position now, they don't want to entirely devote their support to the PS3...reason being, their GBA and DS efforts have been exceptionally profitable for them. So they kinda want to support Nintendo too. Being that Square is a Japanese company, I doubt they'll support Microsoft.

Anyway, Square representatives said they were thinking about multi-platform releases for some of their titles, and I believe Kingdom Hearts was specifically mentioned. I'll see if I can dig up the article.

Okay, cool! Yeah, it'll be nice to see more of Square's stuff showing up on the big N. Quite a few of their games have already hit the handheld scene, so I don't see why they wouldn't jump into Nintendo's console market. Unless, of course, they're concerned about the hardware, but I think Nintendo has been pretty clear that just because the Wii supports very unique gameplay, doesn't mean that it's not meant to play traditional type games as well. (and they'd also like you to give them more money and get the retro style controller XD)
But I'd say there's a good chance of seeing some big third party titles show up on the Wii. I think I heard there would e a totally revamped Spyro, and a new Sonic as well. (although both of those franchises showed up on GCN also, I do believe)

Found the article, here's a couple of the highlights:

"We don't want PlayStation 3 to be the overwhelming loser, so we want to support them," says Michihiro Sasaki, senior VP of Square Enix. "But we don't want them to be the overwhelming winner either, so we can't support them too much."

Finally:

Earlier in the story, however, the journalists make mention of where various Square Enix franchises are landing, specifically noting the high-end Final Fantasy sequels will find themselves on PlayStation 3, but more importantly, they have yet to decide who will receive the next Kingdom Hearts.

I think it should go multiplatform (excluding Xbox). I'm not sure how all the technical stuff pans out, but that sounds like their best bet.

KH3 for Wii? Funny. I was actually thinking about perfectly that would work. Wiimote for aiming attacks/actions, d-pad on Wiimote for menus, nunchuck for movement and jumping, etc.

Can i use GCN controllers for the wii?

Yes. It plugs into the top.

Which is perfectly fine by me, it shows Nintendo is definitely smart enough to realize what games will work with the new controller and which ones won't.

Wow, really? I was just thinking that SSBB would probably be better with the gamecube or retro style controller.

I'm pretty sure that it's 4 ports, though I'd have to do actual research to be sure. Ask Link, he should know.

I wonder how the Gamecube discs will feed into the console. The slot is made for normal sized discs, no?

I would imagine that it'd be self-centering. It'd be too frustrating to get it centered otherwise.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

As far as I know there isn't a second slot. Having the slot be self centering would make sense, though.
