What AMVs would you make?

Postby rocklobster » Fri Sep 29, 2006 11:18 am

If you knew how to make an AMV, what songs and anime would you use?
Here's some ideas I've had:
  • "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins (Anime: Last Exile note: there is one, but it's not a good one)
  • "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin (again Last Exile)
  • "War" by Edwin Starr (Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion or any Gundam cartoon)
  • "The End of the Innocense" by Don Henley (Anime: Grave of the Fireflies and My Neighbor Totoro. It seems to fit in with their themes)
  • "Dirty Boots" by Sonic Youth (Anime: Serial Experiments Lain It seems to fit in with the surreality of this anime)
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. I appointed you to be a prophet of all nations."
--Jeremiah 1:5

"The Thirst is Taking over" by Skillet. I might use Bleach for that

And I really want to make one to "Michyuh" by Lee Jung Hyun to some sort of shonen anime with girls (Like Mai-HiME)

The Tide Began to Rise by Demon Hunter, with Hagaren. Come on: "these bloodstained walls, the lines of chalk on the floor"... it's begging to be made.

Holy crap, that DOES fit. I'd love to see that. XD

I have a tendancy to daydream about AMVs I would make, so...I have a lot.

"Lift Me Up" by Benjamin Gate (Anime: Miyazaki movies. I thought it'd be cute since his movies have a major theme of flying moving through them.)

"DOLA RE" from...some...bollywood movie *forgets which one* (Anime: various, but Princess Tutu would be somewhere in there....I've always thought it'd be cool to do an AMV to Bollywood music and title it 'Bollyme")

"Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved)" by BT (Anime: DNAngel. The references to 'stumbling in the dark' and 'praying for love' makes me think it would work really well as a character profile for Dark and Daisuke.)

And I'd also love to do an AMV to "I Like The Way You Move" by Bodyrockers. It seems like it'd make a fun dance/action AMV.

I'd love to make AMVs, but I lack the required knowledge, the time to learn, and possibly the money needed for required software.

Yeah, same here. If I felt like I could say "I'll use this in a job one day!", I could maybe convince myself to use it, but since I want to be a novelist...XD

I may sound 'atypical' now or something by saying it, but I think a good AMV of "Boom" (by P.O.D.) to One Piece could work fairly well. I've actually planned a good bit in my head (though I'm not sure if I'll ever make it >_> ). Such as (just for cool effect) having somef the different characters' major attacks shown during each "BOOM!" line. "Usopp's Hammer" ("5 tons") must be on one of those, and as he stands have the line "How ya like me now?!" playing. XD

Oh, I've had several ideas. XD

One would be of Sailor Venus lip-synching to "Popular", from Wicked. Another idea is "Buckets for Bullet Wounds" by House of Heroes set to something like...I dunno, something. But it would make an awesome video if everything were timed right. XD

And suddenly I draw a blank on all the other videos I've thought of making in the past. I'll just leave it at this for now. XD;

I have a CD I bought off the internet. Its a kind of a fire/ems type music CD
Its called "World's Greatest Heros" by (I am not joking) Dick Tasty & the Medics. I would use in the begining for the start of the AMV part of the begining of Excel Saga where Excel is slipping on banana peels for the song "Call 911 which has a jazed up drum roll then I would use verious scenes from other animes for different things mentioned in the song. The end of the song has what sound like a ambulance hitting something flying into the air and coming down, so for that I have a scene from a live action movie " Bring Out the Dead" where a ambulance crashes.
Another AMV I would do is to a song from the movie "Dragnet" with Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks called " City of Crime" sung by Aykroyd and Hanks which would used with the Lupin the 3rd movie "Castle of Casgliostro".
Lupin would be Hank's charactor and Zenigata would be Aykroyd's charactor.

"Roads" by Blindside, with Trigun would be sweet, too.

And many, many Project 86 songs remind me of YuYu Hakusho in some way or another, as well.

There is a GREAT lampoon of this song as part of a snippet in an AMV called 'Anime Polka.' It uses Wierd Al's version of this song, to the bar scene in Evangelion. Hilarious.

The Weird Al polka medley was actually my introduction to the song. I was a non-radio-listening kid when the original song was popular, so I missed it entirely. Years later, after I had long since forgotten the name of and artist behind the original from the Weird Al liner notes, I still found myself humming the polka version at "appropriate" times. Then one day a local radio station actually dusted off the old one-hit-wonder and I was like, "Hey, it's the song from the Weird Al polka medley." It's since become a favorite of mine.

[/Rambling, unfunny anecdote.]

I have a lot of anime videos that I'd love to make, but I don't know how and even if I did I'd probably be too lazy to make it really good ^_^. But anyway, here are some of my ideas.

-From This Moment (remix) by Shania Twain; using various romantic scenes from lots of different anime
-Measure of a Man by Clay Aiken, for Pokemon
-There's a Fine Fine Line (from Avenue Q) for Pokemon
-I'm With You by Avril Lavigne for Neon Genesis Evangelion
-My World by Avril Lavigne for Sailor Moon
-Anything But Ordinary by Avril Lavigne for Kare Kano
-Sk8er Boi by Avril Lavigne for Yu-Gi-Oh!
-Things I'll Never Say by Avril Lavigne for Digimon Frontier

EDIT: I changed the song for the Kare Kano one. I get some of Avril's songs confused

MEP Snips?

I saw sk8ter done to kare-kano; it worked fairly well.

I made several tracks for the Animix project and one for AMV Hell a while back. I am now coordinating my own multieditor project (other people make snippets and send them in, and I will string them all together like AMV Hell, except I am steering toward clean 'G' rated jokes, puns & one-liners.) Each snippet is only 15-30 sec long so if you only have a quick joke that works for a fragment of a song then that can work.

I am thinking throwing Tenjou-Tenge at a snippet of Rascal Flatts "Me and my Gang," the part that goes:
(some audio editing required)

"It's a brother and a sister kind of thing* / (Maya & her brother the psycho)
hold up your hand(s) if you all wann hang
with me an my gang/ (Souichiro's 'gang')
We live to ride we ride to live" (Maya & the other guy on the motorcycle.)

OK, I got some new ones:
"I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" by Meatloaf: Inuyasha
"Brothers Hang On" by MC Hammer (non-hit on Too Legit to Quit: Gungrave
"Turn the Page" by Bob Seger (note: THE ORIGINAL!): Cowboy Bebop

Someone in my office listens to a oldies radio station and every once and a while they play Queen's "Someone To Love" and I think of using it with various scenes of charactors looking for someone to love or scenes of charactors loving someone.
I would guess most of it be from Oh My Goddess when you read or listen to the lyrics.

Ah, an Avril fan. You know, I really want to set the entire Triptych CD by Demon Hunter (my all-time favorite CD) to a series of Hagaren AMVs (my all-time favorite anime). Make a DVD out of it or something.

At the start of the year I began capturing footage for my next AMV...and it got as far as that cause I got held up with the short film I made with my girlfriend.

I can't say the name of the song 'or describe it 'cause I don't want any admins getting on my back about it.

So aside from that, the other idea I have is a medley of Metallica songs off the S & M album (with the San Francisco symphony) all to Berserk.

I started cutting the audio for this:
Mainly, just Master of Puppets, then goes into One, then back to Puppets...the problem I'm having is getting it all under 5 minutes and making the cuts in the audio seamless.
"Destroy all that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish" - The Boondock Saints

"Man creates dolls in his own image. If God exists, it's possible that we're all just dolls to him." - Evangelion (episode 22)
