Bleach Ad Finally Airs

Postby mitsuki lover » Thu Aug 31, 2006 12:13 pm

Well those people at AS finally decided to get in gear and start advertising for Bleach. The first ad appeared yesterday night. So far from the ads both
Trinity Blood and Bleach look a bit interesting, though the fact that AS has only started running the ad campaign for Bleach makes me wonder on how serious they are about it.

- Abraham Kuyper

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."

Well, when is it supposed to begin airing? If it's not until sometime in September, then it's appropriate that they begin airing it around this time. If they aired it earlier...Well, it'd be pointless, due to being too early. And besides, it's not Anime Swim, it's Adult Swim. Their schedule doesn't revolve around anime, so it's not like they have some obligation to take anime more seriously than their other shows. They air the shows that get good ratings; if Bleach doesn't get good ratings, they'll take it off. It's how TV works. *shrug*

The ad is, of course, available online: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65lg2h58Qe8

I've never been too picky about voice actors, myself. Rukia sounds fine to me (though I expect many people will say she is too unemotional based on her two or so lines of dialogue) but Ichigo is different than I imagined him. Not a big deal.

I suppose it's a good thing I don't have cable eh? What I don't see can't bother me.

Decided that based on one 30 second commercial?

Michelle Ruff sounds very good as Rukia. Ichigo I imagined sounding more cynical than Jonny Yong Bosh can handle.

Well, she and Jonny as Ichigo are the only characters who talk on the commercial, so I'm not sure why you're making the blanket statements "the american v/a's suck! the voices don't suit the characters at all!" Give it a chance.

They're making up for lost time by running the ad every stinking commercial break.

I like the sound of Rukia. But Ichigo I am not sure about. I'll have to make sure to watch it so I can get more than just the 30 secs worth

I could just look this up, but since it isn't time sensitive and much easier, I'll just ask you instead.

Is that eastern time? Normally I might presume that, given that the website defaults to eastern, but 11 seems a bit late for anime on Saturday.

It's the right time. Adult Swim doesn't start until 11:00, and anime on Adult Swim doesn't start until 12:00.

It's Eastern and Pacific.
I've since added Bleach and Trinity Blood to my official list of anime to get on DVD because I know sooner or later AS is going to end up screwing both series up some how.I have little faith in AS.

After watching the trailer a few more times I decided I do like the voices. My main problem with them was I though Ichigo sounded toon young but in actuality he isn't sposed to sound older since he really is only a 15 year old kid.

I did but it seemed like YOU steered it off topic. However, you backed it up with your opinion on the ad. He just said he liked the FMA dub out of thin air. Nothing about Bleach was including to contribute to the thread.
