Anime Deprivation

Postby FaerieChica » Fri Sep 01, 2006 3:07 pm

I am in dire need of new anime. Too bad I don't have a job, so that I could make money and purchase glorious anime XD At the moment, I'd love to run out and grab Azumanga Daioh. I've seen all eps, but it's wonderfully hilarious. I'd either get that, or Fruits Basket, which I haven't seen. *is revolving around more or less the same genre, obviously* Any ideas of great anime that I should definitely get? I do like other genres, I just happen to be in that mode today.

Well, if you think you'd enjoy Fruits Basket, then I think you'd love Full Moon wo Sagashite. The first DVD is the only one that's been released at the moment, but the second is going to be released September 7th, I believe. As for other good shoujo titles, I'd reccommend Studio Ghibli's "Whisper of the Heart." That's all I can think of for now, though! XD;

Kodocha is a great title to pick up for something in that kind of genre. Also, SuperGALS! is an excellent comedy shojo title you should also look out for (it's available on thinpak as well).

On a side note, you could join Netflix for as little as $5.99 a month, and they have LOADS of anime there. I used to use Rent Anime but they never had anything available, whereas Netflix has a wide selection. I do the 2-at-a-time deal myself and I find it works out great.

Just a thought, so you don't have to spend tons of money buying anime you don't know if you'll like. :thumb:

I second Netflix, particularly if you're unable to watch stuff like Anime On Demand. It's a GREAT way to find stuff you like! ^^

Also, if you decide you want to buy something ADV dubbed, right now's the time to do it...they're having a Memorial Day Sale on their website until the 5th. *coughcoughPrincessTutufor$12aDVD!coughcough* If I hadn't just gone on a huge spending spree, I would probably get some, too....XD

Netflix? If you have a decently stocked library in your town chances are they will have plenty of anime which can be checked out for free.

I checked out AnimeNation and I really liked the site, althought the preowned section is rather lacking. But hey, I can't complain since I don't have much money. Thanks alot for the ideas though :)

Your breath's like wine,
And just like clouds, my skin crawls.
It's so divine, the sky it glows with fields of light.
Did you know that I love you?
Come and lay with me.
I love you.
And all this day, I will love you.
You make me feel alive,
and I'll love you
Until the end of time.
