September original character design contest!

( Mod approved, expect it to be moved to a sutiable section shortly ^^)

Alright, this is a contest where illustration skills, creativity and connecting a character with a suitable background are quite sentral.

It basicly means that the contest is going to senter around a character design of your own, a senario will be constructed to point you to what kinda area we are looking for. Also a visual character (drawing or computerised material) a background (same) and a typed history/bio/personality.

So, lets begin shall we :)

Area: Castle under fire, nightime

( Background plays a part too )

So there is a castle under attack from enemies. You can for example have your character inside the castle or outside in the battlefield. The character don't have to be clashing against the enemies, you can if you want too ^^

It don't have to be a humans only senario ^^ Be creative and lets see where this leads.

Here are the awards who will be dealt if this turns out to be a success.

Most creative design.
Most creative background.
Best thechnical design.
Most exciting bio/personality/history for the main character.

And, there will be a stand alone winner at the end.

( I hope this won't die out, if it is a success then it may become a monthly contest ^^)

So, a castle under siege? Ok. SOunds interesting.. but I mostly don't join things like this.. but I will give it a shot XD ok? May take a little while.. but I will work hard to get it done!

Rather dumb question, but does the character have to be new, or can we use an original character we already have?

Normally, with my insane schedule this semester I might hesitate at doing this, but I have a week long field trip that involves 12+ hour rides there and back, so I should have ample time to play with this.

And awesome idea for a contest, loads of fun. Can't wait to see what people come up with!

I would prefer a new character, so that there will be a new character on each month if this is properly composed ^^

Before I start, let me get this straight:

Each contestant comes up with their own original character.
A scenario is chosen by the Design Contest host.
It can be drawn freehand or using computer software.
There needs to be a background and some information about the history and personality of the character (a bio).


Is that right Jaden? I had a bit of trouble comprehending what you wrote (is English your first language?)

Thanks for organising this, I'll get right on it.

I would like to have some of the castle in veiw if not close. As told before inside or outside is okay ^^
