no bobobo-bo-bo-bobo dvds?

Postby rurouninaruto » Fri Aug 25, 2006 4:51 am

Toei Studios has not released dvds for Bobobo yet! I'm surprised. I don't like the show, but you would think they would have released at least 1 dvd!??! bobobo is crazy, and so is Toei. :hits_self

Yeah, it kinda makes me sad. x.x; I'd be interested in any manga or DVD volumes that would be released, but so far the only thing that's come out is ONE volume of Manga, that's just...like...half-way through the series.

Alot of it maybe, because Toei is wondering if it would be really worth it to put them out on DVD, when it was cancelled in Japan at Episode 76 and it had just started a new arc, which wasn't wrapped up at all.

It only has 76 episodes?
One thing I have learned from watching Bobobo-bobo-bobo is not to worry about the plot as there doesn't seem to be too much of one.And I thought the manga was out already.

The manga is *kinda* out. They released a 'test' volume to see how it would do--but it's something like...I think it's volume 8, or so? It's just a part half-way through the series they thought would maybe do well.

And yeah, the anime was canceled in Japan because...appearantly mothers complained about it being too violent (...).

That's incorrect. There are more than 90 episodes of BoBoBo-BoBo-BoBo according to the author.

Who actually watches this for the plot? I watch it to remind myself I'm not as odd and random as I always thought.

Actually, yes. It just started out being a random crazy anime, but as the series progressed it started having a solid plot. It was still crazy and weird, but there was a story to it.

Or so I have read.

Bobobo = too violent for Japanese TV?

Error.

Does not compute.

Ditto. Especially when alot of the violence was actually toned-down for the anime. I'd say stuff like OP and Naruto are far worse, so what's going on (or was Bobobo shown during some "kid" block or something?).

Yeah, I know, when I heard Bo-BoBo was too violent, I was like "...Have they SEEN Naruto? And Case Closed is a 'family' anime? How crazy IS this country?" But, that's what they said.

Maybe it's because Bo-Bobo has a tendancy to attack his "friends" as WELL as his enemies?

Some say that they wanted for the manga to be stop and thought that by trying to shut down the anime, would do the same for the manga, but it didn't.

That still doesn't make any sense.

I haven't read very much of the Bobobo manga, but I can assure you that a lot more violent series have been serialized in Weekly Jump.

And I'm unaware of any major manga series that was stopped due to successful parental complaints....

I just found out something that quite literally knocked my freaking socks off:

In the original Japanese version, the narrator's V/A is none other than Shinichiro Ota, (the one who shouts out,"Fukui-san!") on Iron Chef! That is so cool!

Back on subject, I wouldn't mind seeing a Bobobo-bo-bobobo DVD set...even though the series isn't complete.

Episode 76 is titled "The Final Showdown: FOREVER!" so I'm assumming he made a desperate attempt to wrap up the series.

If you like FLCL, then Bobobo-bo-bobobo is for you! It's completely random, absolutely insane, but one of the coolest anime you'll find anywhere!

If you DON'T like FLCL, then...well...go watch something like Samuari X 'cause this is "Snot for you!"

(Five cookies for the first person who tells me where that quote is from, and who says it!)

I'm still confused over the current story arch as to why no-one has mentioned
Suzu in the less couple of episodes.I mean she got turned into a coin and it seems that the writers forgot she even existed!
