There are a few things you need to be able to do this right.

* Ripper. If you don't already have a copy of the snippets you want, you'll need a ripper to get the data from a DVD. Do note, however, that this may be illegal in some states/provences with some DVDs.
* Once you have the files on your hard drive, you can use any movie editor to break out the pieces you want. The same editor should allow you to combine them back together.

You might want to search google for a good "dvd decrypter" or "dvd ripper." You'll also need a video editor (I'm not sure if it's exactly what you'll want, but virtualdub seems to be a popular tool.

Well, virtualdub has to save everything in Avi's. 9_9
that takes up soooo much space and takes forever!
I'd prefer the easy Windows Movie Maker. Which comes with XP by default.
If you're using anything lower than XP ( say, win. 2000 ) you can still download it from microsoft's site. :)
