Does God enjoy anime.

It is quite true that God desires us to partake in things that bring glory to His Name; that right there is something that is extremely multi-faceted (we can give glory through our actions,our words, serving others, our thoughts, etc.). Scripture is quite clear as well that God, in loving us, has created us in such a way that we are capable of enjoying things like hobbies and the beauty of His creation that fills that world. In Ecclesiastes, Solomon speaks of how basically one of man's greatest rewards/blessings for his hard work is to enjoy the fruits of his labor and recreate as ordained by God (in other words as long as it's not stuff that defames God or goes shames our Christian walk). I'm going to take the jump of faith and mention something else in relation to this: sex. Yes, in Genesis we are commanded reproduce and procreate according ot our kind, but this is also one of God's greatest blessings to a married man and wife, created just as much for their personal enjoyment as well as for having children! Back to a more general level, God most certainly blesses those for following His will and yes bringing glory to His name! David was called a man after God's own heart, and just look how amazing things were under David's kingship, due to God's blessing! Anyways, please understand in no way am I trying to spark an argument; I'm more or less just conceding to both points that were previously made concerning God and the topic of enjoyment/pleasure....

I think it depends on the types of Anime. Clean anime like Hamtaro (which was my personal favorite clean anime! ), and others are most likely the anime he enjoys. I'm not sure. That is for God to answer, not us. But I think he would really like these animes.

Reminds me of the old "If God could create a burrito so hot that he himself couldn't eat it?" But different I guess. Personally, I think we as humans to many times put materialistic identies on God. Such as does God enjoy anime, does God enjoy art, does God enjoy music. etc. I submit he does not "enjoy" or maybe does not identify with the physical aspect of anything found on this world.

However, I believe God does take delight in how we put our talents that he gaves us to use such as drawing, speaking, writing, creating, etc etc I doubt he "enjoys" anime. I mean, I am 100% positive God is a otaku or anything like that. What He takes delight is not anime itself but in how we put our talents to use. Such as music. Personally, I think God couldn't give a crap if it's heavy metal or alt rock or hip hop. What matters if that we are using what He gaves to us to give back to Him.

So in that case, maybe he doesn't like anime because of the violent, sexual, religious overtones some series carry.

It's a very grey subject and personally, for me, an annoying one to sit here and think "I wonder if God likes anime." Seem skinda trivial to me. :/

Hm. Lots of people ask this question in different forms. As far as Anime is concerned, God is glorified through the talents He has given those artists and writers. But, when the artists and writers put those talents to bad or sinful use...they are insulting God. Throwing the wonderful abilities He has given them back in His face. So does God like it? Anime in itself, why not? The talents of those people are incredible. But the sin portrayed in a lot of it, I'm sure God is not happy with.

I would tentatively disagree with that last statement, because God created the physical world and also was incarnate in Jesus Christ. He became a man, and he interacted with the world on a physical level. I can't imagine Jesus going around not enjoying anything.

On the other hand, I think God is definitely more interested in people than in things.

Does God like anime? Who knows.

Is there any anime that glorifies God? I think so. Something doesn't have to be overtly Christian to glorify God, and the glorification doesn't even have to be intentional. Have you ever watched a secular movie, or seen a secular piece of art, or listened to a secular song, that made your heart soar and brought your mind toward things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy? (Philippians 4:8) I have. And I would say that glorifies God.

Ok let me see if I can phrase this just right. Do you think God enjoys Anime on any level. If he dose, why dose he. If he dosen't, why dosen't he.

well God enjoys any form of worship or praise. if your anime has a christian message, im sure it makes him happy. hes our creator, and he couldnt give us gifts without opprotunities to use them.

if one of your gifts is manga/anime, use it to serve God. master it, increase your skill and knowledge. practice it. God gave you this ablity to make him happy, so dont misuse it by bad language and nudity,like most mangas out there. enjoy the skill that God gave you. and that will make him happy.

We're beginning to tread on theological ground now. All things give glory to God by they're very existence. One of my professors used to say, "When you die you will either give glory to God through his infinite mercy or his perfect justice." Even things that go against God bring him glory in the end when he triumphs over them.

God is only above physical earthly things in that he is superior to them, not in that he is disinterested in them, as Eirewolf already demonstrated.
