That's what they said about new Futurama episodes. The board is still up and running at G4 forums so that is a good indication that they'll probably bring it back one of these days.Without AU there isn't any alternative to adult anime on basic cable and so we're stuck with AS,which is why I love my DVDs now.

I really don't watch TV for anime anymore. The only channel I get that shows what I was once interested in was AS, and, not that I don't like Trigun, Bebop, or FMA anymore, but I've seen them all so many times now that it gets old. I use fansubs, Youtube, Netflix, and my local Best Buy to keep me entertained these days. XD

Yeah, but G4 had nothing to do with that!

The board is still up and running at G4 forums so that is a good indication that they'll probably bring it back one of these days.

I know the board's still up (or at least it was last time I checked) but really, how long has it been now? Six months? At first the explaination was that they had to "retool" the show? Well, how long do they need to retool a "show" that's basically just running already produced anime series?

They had some GREAT series - Last Exile, RahXephon, Lain, just to name a few - and their license to show these series has got to expire at some point.

Without AU there isn't any alternative to adult anime on basic cable and so we're stuck with AS,which is why I love my DVDs now.

For those of you who have digital cable, try
http://animeontv.com which will give you the schedules for Encore Action, AZN, IFC, etc. Although the pickings are rather slim.

The only problem with that is that those aren't on basic cable. And in any case
you can't rule out the possibility of AU returning.Anything is possible. The one reason given that it is currently on hiatus is that the only shows that are cut to the new format are RahXephon,Colorful and Cromartie High and you can't run an entire block on just three shows.

I can only get three chanels that ever show anime. Off the web can go up soon, but my sister went to stay overnight somewhere the day the broadband arrives. I have the sci-fi chanel, they show a film sometimes, most recently a Cowboy Bebop one, and every so often they run a series or two. Normally one is Evangeleon. Rapture shows Full Metal Alchemist and Wolf's Rain, but Im out when theyre on. Film Four became free recently and theyre having a Studio Ghibli season just now. If your in Britain that might be interesting.

That's true, but we don't know how long they have the rights to show those animes. Just last month, I found out that Escaflowne broadcast rights for Fox have finally ended and they had the rights starting in 2000.

But I have a feeling that G4 may do away with anime on their channel, but who knows.

One should never really say die.As long as there is enough interest and as long as people keep posting suggestions on the AU forum I would doubt that they would totally give up on anime. The fact that they run both Star Trek:The Next Generation and TOS(as Star Trek 2.0)still seems to show that they are interested in airing science fiction on G4,which would be good news for AU since traditionally it has aired more Sci Fi based series like Lain,Silent Mobius and Geneshaft. The only question is not IF but WHEN it will return and with what shows.

Part of the problem with G4 is that RahXephon,Colorful and Cromartie High are the only three series that are currently formated for the new format of the network.
Though it is interesting the shows that people at the AU forum have come up with
for when AU does come back.

I used to watch Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and G4 for anime. Then G4 stopped showing anime and put on that crappy car/detective show and reruns of Star Trek. Then I lost cable all together. Now all I get is local channels, which cuts down on my wrestling watching too. Local Cable is 73|-| 3\/1|_!!!1111

I mostly use Netflix now, since my hours don't normally allow me to watch AS but I just discovered another channel called COLOURS It's a satellite channel and it has been showing blocks of Funimation shows including: Kodocha, Case Closed, Galaxy Railways, Blue Gender, Kiddy Grade, Tenchi Muyo GXP, Baki the Grappler, and a few more I'm forgetting...

Well,I'm an optimist when it comes down to it and figure sooner or later they have to either say they're going to cancel it out right or else set a date to bring it back.

I only subscribe to basic cable, so no CN, and definitely no Anime Network, etc. I guess Kids' WB, but I don't watch much of that except for the occasional new Pokemon episode. I really get most of my anime by renting or buying it, or in my Newtype USA DVD's.

Here's a good channel: Morpheu....

Oh, wait. *mumbles about legality*

G4 is where I get my television anime fix.

I basically only watch anime on Cartoon Network. It's the only channel we get on our cable that shows anime I'm interested in (although Pokemon and Digimon making nostolgic).

...And....G4TV still shows anime? I thought they stopped and covered it over with stupid shows like The Man Show...

They have a DVD with each issue. The DVD's are preview DVD's with (generally) 2-3 complete episodes (one each from different series, and from different companies than just ADV). They're a very, very nice bonus. And the anime is quality. I've had maybe 2-3 out of 30-some that haven't played right, that's the only drawback (but it's rare and I'll bet they'd replace them if you called). These DVD's have led me to check out several series and avoid some others.

For instance, here are the last 3 DVD's I got from my last 3 NTUSA's and the major episodes on them.

June 2006 (perhaps my favorite NTUSA DVD ever):
This Ugly Yet Beautiful World Ep. 1
Elemental Gelade Ep. 1
Genshiken Ep. 1

July 2006:
Strawberry Marshmallow Ep. 1
Tenkoman Ep. 1
Ninja Nonsense Ep. 1

August 2006:
Papuwa Ep. 1
Negima Ep. 1
Grenadier Ep. 1

I know from my own expierence that ADV and other companies tend to include previews of various titles among the extras in DVDs.I have seen prevvies for series such as Rune Soldier and Slayers this way.
I guess I have to see if I can find Newtype one of these days.
