Paul Murky of Murky Research here with another poll! (Extra points if you can figure out where I got the funny name) Katsuhiro Otomo, IMHO, is almost as good as that other anime director (coughcoughMiyazakicoughcough). So, which of his movies do you like best. BTW, if any of you have watched Roujin Z, can you review it for me? It's the only one I haven't seen yet.

Akira was too depressing and violent for my liking. Steamboy had great imagination and visuals, the story was ok but not great. Metropolis had great music, animation (besides the weird idea to use Astro Boy character styles), great story and great characters. I choose Metropolis.
To be honest, I didn't like Akira either. But I tried Metropolis, and I realized I may have been too harsh. I'm even willing to watch it again, but only after I read the manga. If I ever get around to it.

Rocklobster, I've heard the Metropolis manga is very different to the anime movie. From what I've seen the anime has a strong resemblance in some ways to the movie of the same name from 1926.
Hey J, go see Metropolis now!
