I've been debating whether to get the manga as I already have the anime.

The manga expands the storyline that was seen in the movie, this along warrants the purchase.

The movie is more or less the first story arc of the manga, which continues on for a long time after. The story gets more Princess Mononoke-ish, which explains the claim that Miyazaki made Mononoke -which has the many of the same story elements and themes as Nausicaä - to "fix" things he had come to dislike about Nausicaä.
