Recommendations?

Title says it all.

I'm a huge fan on romance and overly cutesy stuff, so things around the D.N.Angel and Fruits Basket area to the Tokyo Mew Mew and DiGi Charat area are good for me. I also don't mind the rare action types like Trigun and Chrno Crusade (this one I only read the manga of), but my biggest concerns lie within sexual content.

To see a girl with big breasts doesn't bother me at all, but to see a girl almost naked or loads of sexual jokes and stuff...I wanna stay away from that. Back when I was younger I had a bad time with yaoi/yuri, hentai, all that bad stuff. Then again though, with movies like American Pie being aimed at me it was bound to happen. I just thank God I got out about a year or so after starting to get dangerously deep into it.

So...any ideas? Azumanga Daioh has interested me for such a long time, but the one girl being in love with one of the others just bothers me. You can never tell how things really are since the fandom is always blowing stuff out of porportion. :/

Just thought I should ask since right now all I really got is DPPG and Kirarin Revolution and getting something else would be nice. Then again though, it'd also be helpful if people would stop shoving pointless yaoi/yuri relationships into everything. *beats up Mimi and Sheshe for daring to mess with MMPPP*

Thanks guys!

Pretear (although there's some jokes about the oldest sister trying to get a man -- any man).

Full Moon wo Sagashite. Can't reccommend it enough. XD According to the anime you mentioned that you liked, you'd love Full Moon. Totally clean, other than the idea of shinigami, but if you can handle Furuba, you're sure to love Full Moon. :D No nudity, sex (there's an implied affair in the manga, but it's absent from the anime), etc. Fan~tastic anime.

Also, Magic Knight Rayearth might be a good one to try. You may want to check out Tsubasa Chronicle, too. Also, if you don't mind the action/violence, but like clean romance, Rurouni Kenshin could be a good one to try, as well (both the anime and manga are bloody, the manga much moreso, though).

If you'd like to try some unlicensed anime, Air (TV) is a good, clean choice. You can find a very helpful review of it here. Hope these suggestions helped, and good luck finding some fun, clean anime! :thumb:

Kaorin's crush on Sakaki gets relatively little screen time in Azumanga Daioh, and there are only a few points where it's really distasteful. I have more trouble with Kimura, the teacher obsessed with girls. Despite these annoyances, AD is worth watching for the sake of Chiyo, Osaka, Sakaki and Yomi. Just be prepared to hit the fast-forward button, and skip episode four ("Pool, Pool, Pool") entirely.

I second the recommendation of Sugar. For sheer concentrated essence of kawaii, only Binchoutan and Bottle Fairy rival it. It's an excellent story, suitable for all ages, including adults.

I like what I've seen of Ah! My Goddess TV so far, and there is nothing objectionable in the first volume, unless you have a problem with romances involving Norse goddesses at Japanese universities. However, in the next volume a second goddess joins the household, and with her comes some mild fan service and innuendo -- but just innuendo: as of episode ten, the principals haven't even kissed yet. I can recommend the Ah! My Goddess movie without reservation.

A couple of other CLAMP-based series to consider: Angelic Layer and Cardcaptor Sakura. Both feature good stories, interesting characters and lots of cuteness. The latter is one of the best (and longest) animes ever released, but it does require some reservations: same-sex attraction is part of the story. It's not emphasized, but it is there. There's nothing objectionable about Angelic Layer, though.

I would second Kaleido Star and Princess Tutu for the cutesy factor. ;)

As far as romance/relationship drama, I'd recommend Diamond Daydreams. It's basically a collection of 2-episode short stories. Content-wise, there's very little of concern. One story deals with a woman who finds out her romantic interest is married, but it's definitely not condoned. I should probably mention that another story deals with two girls who were friends as children but had something of a falling out, and one of the girls' desire to regain that friendship. There is absolutely nothing in the story to suggest that it's anything more than friendship, though.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is the best anime of this year. It has a bit of fanservice, but it's definitely not overboard or anything. Currently not licensed.

I have some reservations about Suzumiya Haruhi, original though it is. While the fan service, in the usual sense, is mild, the title character uses one of the others as a toy and a tool, which I found quite offensive.
