Goodbye Kagome!

Postby mitsuki lover » Sun Jul 16, 2006 1:28 pm

October will see the last episode of Inuyasha. This has been the best anime,IMO that has aired on CN.After October I will be getting my Inuyasha fix primarily by buying the DVDs and mangas. At least that way I shall be able to watch it undiluted by the cutting scissors of the jerks at AS.
The one pity is that it doesn't have an appropiate successor at AS to follow it.Fushigi Yugi would have been nice, but AS will air that when Satan starts skating to work.
Though there is one show on Toonami that could be called the proper successor to Inuyasha:Naruto,B'lieve it! :thumb:
That said I will definitely stop watching AS following the Inuyasha finale.
I don't see why I ought to waste my time on staying up late any more when all they do is screw with the schedule any way. :shady:
This is why after October I will be watching what I can of Inuyasha on DVD.
Frankly I don't see much use in watching AS after Inuyasha goes in any case because it is quite clear that TPTB are not interested in the anime portion of their fandom, especially in getting good shojo. If they acquire titles like Fushigi Yugi,Revolutionary Girl Utena,Full Metal Panic and Sakura Wars
before January I would consider changing my mind, again that isn't likely to happen.
The one reason I really spend any time watching AS is because of Inuyasha and since there are no titles that are similiar to it and since AS shows no real interest in acquiring further shows like Inuyasha...
I will miss watching Kagome on AS,I will not miss watching AS.
For all I care they can go jump into a very hot bath of acid.

Finally, the light at the end of the freaking tunnel!

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this comment though:

mitsuki lover wrote:Though there is one show on Toonami that could be called the proper successor to Inuyasha:Naruto,B'lieve it! :thumb:

Maybe if Naruto was on the AS block instead of the kiddie Toonami block, and maybe if it was a little more unedited, and definately if it was hyped up a little less, then I would see it as being a suitable replacement for Yasha.

I will definately be watching the final episode...even though I haven't seen any earlier episode in months. My attention was distracted by a little thing calle...::Looks around and whispers:: Evangelion...

Come on, October!

OK, sorry, that was mean of me. Seriously, I don't like Inu Yasha and will be glad when it's not taking up timeslots any more, but I'm sorry for the fans' loss.

Anyway, it shouldn't really be surprising that they aren't interested in getting shoujo titles, considering their primary target audience is male. How they ever ended up with Inu Yasha in the first place is a mystery to me.

Eh, I won't miss it. InuYasha has a few good episodes, but the series is just too long and too repetitive to really be interesting to me. So yeah, I'm glad they're dropping it, and I hope something better takes its place. I can agree about the shoujo shows, though. I would really like to see AS try to broaden their target audience.

I go with RedMage on this. :/

Maybe if Naruto was on the AS block instead of the kiddie Toonami block, and maybe if it was a little more unedited,

Not happening, and I still don't find the edits to be much of a problem.

I agree with Radical Dreamer on this one. It was a good show, but it was way too long with it's plot development!

No matter what anyone says, this was like my first REAL anime show...it will always have a special place in my heart....and I am broken up about it ending*cry*.
When you search your soul, what do you see?
A broken piece of your heart, or happiness as large as the sea. When you fall to pieces, do you cry, or do you look up to the sky..remembering the promise made, that he will always be there to make darkness fade.

When you say that Inuyasha is ending in October, do you mean it's the end of the shows AS purchased or that they will be showing the last Inuyasha episode ever seen in Japan? AS has a horrible habit of only buying some but not all of an anime series and then never showing the end of it - cough Rurouni Kenshin cough.

I liked Inuyasha when it first came on, and I still enjoy watching it, but it's grown a bit repetetive lately. Inuyasha and company only seem to fight Naraku or incarnations of Naraku. Will Naraku just die already?!? I'm gettin really sick of his evilness and minions managing to win, or at least escape, every battle. It's getting annoying. I sincerely hope he gets what's coming to him in the end. I'll watch the last episodes for no other reason than hoping for a decisive victory and a definite end to Naraku.

Well, I'm still gonna watch AS. And since there seems to be a lot of Inuyasha hatred in this thread, I want to say that I have enjoyed this show immensely. It's always fun to watch and I fell in love with almost the characters, even Rin and Hojo's ancestor have their charm (Myoga, well... :shake: ) Here's to hoping the manga has a great ending (I hope we get to see Miroku and Sango get married. Those two deserve each other! Really!)
Oh and Mitsuki Lover, don't forget, there's still two more movies for CN to show!

The anime doesn't HAVE an ending, really. Here's what I remember from some other thread.
They're trapped inside some sort of monster thing, Inuyasha uses one of his three attacks, doesn't matter which one, as they're all ridiculously overpowered and boring. Anyway, after blowing up the monster, everyone's like, "Thanks for getting us out!" Then the credits roll and during the end credits you see everyone going their separate ways.

That's IT. No final fight with Naruka, no closure on ANYTHING, they didn't even collect all the shards of that jewel. Talk about ridiculously lame.
There. I just saved you from the most boring 22 minutes of your life. Use it to go watch a good anime, like Full Moon wo Sagashite.

Whoa. In Wild ARMs 2, the terrorist group is called Cocytus. I knew Cocytus was the ninth level of Hell covered in ice, but I had no idea that the four Generals that led Cocytus were named after the four sections.

It was my first too(I dunno if Digimon counts, but this is what GOT me into anime.). But I'm not sad it's ending. I like the manga MUCH better. Bad dubbing isn't the only way they can mangle an anime. But I'm still gonna collect the box sets -and watch them in JP.

Crred4, I don't know if the manga is going to end soon. The author wants to go to 500(and hopefully stop there), but she might go longer.

They MIGHT continue the series. The author has gotten together with the voice actors and discussed it, so who knows?

I have read some summaries and
the jewel is almost compleat, and Kykio died and they are heading for the final battle with Naraku
So I don't know how long she will drag it out from there.

Be prepared to be let down and then go read the manga. Its better anyhow ^^ (though I'm terribly behind on the manga and probably won't be able to catch up *cry*)

edit: Ah, nevermind! I'm catching up and the story is getting really good! It seems like the manga is getting nearer to really wrapping up. If they make another anime to finish the story I'll be so happy (if they use the same voice actors of course)

My opinion on InuYasha remains the same: it's better than those who hate say it is because of its popularity, and not as good as the crazy fans (no offense) say it is.

I'll be happy to finally see the end (though I heard it was disappointing) and to have it over with. Personally, I believe that (like most series over 52 episodes), it could have been much better had it not been so long. That's really what ruined it for me, anyway.

The anime itself really starts to drag after the shichinintai arc because of all the fillers. The manga also has its fair share of drag-age (its up to 400 something chapters now), so much so that I stoppedj reading for awhile. But now that its getting back into the final storyline and everything is winding down, I'm getting caught up again. The Inuyasha series has its moments, that's for sure, but its not the immortal god of all anime that people claim it to be. Its fanbase can certainly be annoying.

Only if the anti-Kagome anti-Inuyasha people give IT a second or third chance.I don't see why I should watch Trinity Blood but since BLeach as the trio of KAte Higgins,Michelle Ruff and Wendee Lee it might be somewhat decent. But as I suggested it looks like Naruto is the new Inuyasha,at least for me.I like the way the show as developed so far and especially the way Sakura and Naruto have been rooting for each other and Sasuke in the tournament.Shows they've become a real team.
THough I am also hopeful that AU will return by the time of the Inuyasha series finale.I think part of the problem is that AS hasn't had any real competition on
basic cable when it comes to adult level anime for awhile.
