Has anyone seen this one? I watched part of the first episode, and wasn't very impressed. Seemed like a combination of AzuDa and Kare Kano. Is it worth pursuing?

It's a very cute and funny series, although first episode is one of the weakest. It was basically just an episode to introduce the characters for the audience to get the basic jist of their personalities. See at least up to episode two, since that's when things start coming together.

It's not a rip-off of Azumanga Daioh because it's based on a manga that actually came a few years before AzuDai (also a four-panel strip). Technically Azumanga is the one that's doing the "ripping-off". I think they even ran in the same magazine, but I'm not totally sure.

It gets a little predictable after about six episodes, but it's still a cute series. There are quite a few gay/lesbian jokes and references, though, so if that's not your thing you might not like this series because those characters make the most frequent appearances aside from the teacher.

I've watched the first three volumes and wasn't too impressed with it. Animation was somewhat lacking and as far as the characters in the series, well, they just didn't grab my attention nor give me any reason to connect with them. If you are looking for something on the cuter side (which is what I assumed this title was going to be) you might want to try something like the newly released Strawberry Marshmallows.

I saw the first DVD and decided not to continue. The series just didn't grab me. It looks cute, but they obviously didn't have a big budget for animation and the characters are somewhat weak in comparison to other titles out there. This series is probably more for the die-hard fan of the genre.

If you really liked Azumanga Daioh, then this show is probably worth a look beyond the first episode to see if it's good to you.
