Anime vs. Manga war--Trigun

Okay, which is better--the Trigun manga or the Trigun anime

Can I go with neither?

OK, I'll say the anime, even though it was a huge disappointment to me, because the art in the manga is so cluttered and chaotic you can't even tell what's happening half the time in the action scenes.

I second the fact that the art leaves much to be desiered in regards to what is being portrayed in the action sequences. It's hard to compare them. The anime is very light-hearted even during the sadder episodes. However, the manga is so angsty and dark and gruesome it's like reading a different series. i.e. the difference between Wolfwood vs Grey the Ninelives in both anime and manga.

I think I will go with the anime.

All I had to do was flip thorugh the manga once at the bookstore to know I'd never want to read the manga.

The anime, on the other hand, I loved. It's one of my favorites!

Gee, I'm the odd man out. I like the manga better.

I haven't seen enough of the manga yet to know, and there's still that aforementioned "scene" in the manga that turns me off (the one with Knives...).

How similar is the plot?

I've read all the Trigun manga in America so far in one sitting (Normal and Max) and i was wondering how similar the anime was.

I've seen all of the anime and read a few volumes of the manga.

The first few volumes of the manga are fairly similar to the anime, but it diverges after the start of Maximum. Also, the Gung-Ho Guns supposedly get more backstory in the manga and some of them are different.
If you want to know more, look up Trigun's wikipedia article.

I'm fairly indifferent on the matter actually, as I haven't really read enough of the manga to judge.

Oh, definitely the anime. I could only read one volume of the Trigun manga because the action scenes were completely indecipherable.
