Thanks for stating the obvious, we know it's a cartoon. It's just that maybe we have a stronger passion for these "cartoons" than you do. So stop speaking so illy of something we like.
This is one of my major issues with this whole review discussion, and part of the reason I haven't posted back in a long time. The 'holier than thou' crap gets old fast. In Cephas's larger post, the first impression that I got from reading it is that he was equating liking this anime to worshiping Satan. I'm sure this isn't what he meant, and maybe it's a little bit of an overreaction on my part, but that's how the tone of this thread is coming off.
And finally. I think everyone who is condeming this anime is reading *way* too much into it. If this was something with a more serious tone to it it would warrant a harsh review.

This statement is probably the one I have the biggest issue with. This makes me think of how people blamed Doom and Grand Theft Auto for the Columbine shootings. I can see the headlines now: "Seven dead; attacker claims God inspired him through Japanese cartoon"
Okay. Can you see how asinine that is?
Seriously though, going back to another of MSP's posts, it's just Japan using western religion to be different or edgy. No matter how you look at it, pop culture is rittled with people using religion for one means or another. Television, music, books, movies, whatever.
