Ryoko(Tenchi Muyo) for being best female anime character.
Probably either Parn(Record of Lodoss War) or Sousuke (Full Metal Panic?) for best male anime character.

Actually since both Ayeka and Sasami were in suspended animation for over 700
years before arriving on Earth that would be several hundred times great aunt.
Read the manga where they celebrate the first day of Spring and Tenchi plays the
"demon" and everyone has to pelt him with the same number of rice as their age.
Poor Sasami doesn't want to admit she's around 709.
