A question about GW Endless Waltz

Postby Rocketshipper » Sat Apr 29, 2006 9:02 pm

I just recently borrowed the entire GW series from my college anime club and am now very close to finishing it. My question is simple; which version of Gundam Wing Endless Waltz (movie or OVA version) should I watch?? What is the difference between them? I read that the movie has extra footage, but I know that sometimes (example: Macross Plus, the movie) they also have to cut stuff out to make the story fit into a movie. I also heard from a friend that there isn't a difference between them. So I'm confused. Which one would provide the most complete expierence??

They are almost identical. The Movie version has a few extra scenes not found in the OVAs (The OVA came first I believe) The OVA is split into 3 20-30 minute segments.

Also, the OVA's Theme song is White Reflection. While the Movie's is Last Impression (both sung by the same artist I believe) both songs are good.

The OVA came first I believe. But I perfered the movie version. I like the song Last Impression. I suggest watch both versions I guess? Not back to back of course. But whenever you want to watch it again, check out the other version.

I would say go with the movie version because it's #1, less jerky (a movie is always better than 3 episodes, IMO) and #2, they cut out a few scenes in the OVA. Either way, the animation is beautiful and the story's actually pretty enjoyable. You'll love it if you loved GW.

Try to get the Special Edition version. That way you get both the Movie and OVA versions together and can watch either without having to spend extra money.
