Video Games That Should be An Anime

Postby Tommy » Thu Apr 20, 2006 12:24 pm

There was an "Anime that should be Video Games" in the Gamer Section, so I figured this would work here.

Xenogears would work the best, IMO. If it was an anime it would be my favorite Mech. I personally like this way more than Xenosaga.

Chrono Trigger would work out great as well as the first Grandia. Grandia II would do okay at best.

I was going to bring up Star Ocean, but that already happened.

Well, I reckon I'll say it before anyone else does: Zelda. There was an American cartoon based on the games back in the 80s, but that... never really took off.

You're excused.

Oh, and while I'm at it... I would absolutely LOVE to see Phoenix Wright animated.

I'd like to see Sailor Moon: Another Story made into an anime movie, preferably longer than an hour.

Well, I find it a little hard to say this should be done for any series; let's face it, things adapted from video games tend to be abysmal (with the exception of Gungrave).
"People who sin say this, 'That they had to, to survive.' People who sin say this, 'That it is too late to stop.' That shadow called sin dogs them steadily. Without a word, remorse and agony are repeated, to finally end up at despair. But sinners don't know that if they turn around there is a light, a light that keeps shining on them ever so warmly, a light that will never fade."

Two words:

Legend. Of. Zelda.

Okay, so maybe that's not two words. But, I meant two words within a margin of error of +/-2 words.

Joking aside, I really do think this game would make one incredible anime. Even I, a self-proclaimed gaming illiterate, have seen enough to know that I would follow this show devotedly if it were ever release.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

i say zelda, KH or FF..they already made a movie for FF but still seeing as how the game series continues to grow i think they could make a nice little series out of it. as for KH..they already have a manga so why not make it an anime also?

Holy goodness, Metal Gear Solid. Get, like, Kojima to write it, and Anno or Kon to direct it, and have Production IG do the animation in a similar fashion to Stand Alone Complex, and you'd have a flippin' masterpiece.

My, my -- lots of Zelda anime wannabe fans! (That didn't come out right. ) Seriously, though, you may be interested to know that many years ago Nintendo Power published within its pages a multi-issue manga based on A Link to the Past. ^_^ *gets run over by screaming fan people and such*

A Zelda anime might be cool, but it just wouldn't work. Link speaking? Never!

Aside from Metal Gear Solid, God of War would make a spectacular anime, in the same kind of way Berserk is.

This was/is one of my favorite games of all time! In fact, it's the ONLY video game I would even consider playing now (I'm not much of a gamer--no PS2 for me thanks!)

The Legend of the Dragoon for the original Playstation. It's a four disk game that I absolutely love! Anyone remember it?

Guilty Gear needs to be turned into a full length anime, done in the same art style as the Opening for GGXX.

I swear that would have so much potential as an anime.

Legend of Dragoon would make a decent anime, but they would have to switch to a different artstyle.

Chrono Cross...eh..

If they rewrite the characters. With 40 characters, I see no room for character developement. Chrono trigger would work a lot better.
