Johnny Bravo Movie

Postby Rev. Doc » Fri Mar 31, 2006 9:22 am

I was going through some links and came across this. Did a search in this forum but did not see anything on it.

Apparently, this November Warner Brothers in conjunction with Cartoon Network will be releasing a live action Johnny Bravo movie (Johnny has always been one of my favorite recent cartoons). The premise of the movie is Johnny looking for his long lost father. The the person starring as Johnny...none other than The Rock.

Yeah, I've heard of it. I find the idea rather terrifying.

The...idea kinda scares me a little. O.o I never 'got' Johnny Bravo, so the idea of it turning into a movie...particularly when live-action versions of animated shows are often REALLY bad--buuuut...I'll give it a try before I totally trash it.

Blah. The Rock needs to go back to wrestling. I hate his acting for the most part. How sad too, since I like Johnny Bravo...

The Rock?! Are you serious?! I never seen too many eps of Johnny, but I KNOW for a fact that I know the character well enough that it won't work :/ If anyone, Joaquin Phoenix would be the best at it, since he's always doing Elvisy roles.

I won't judge too quickly, but I never was a fan of the show in the first place, just not my style of humor. But the Rock as Johnny ... ? That I'll have to see to believe. Personally, I think this could only come out on one end of the spectrum or the other, either horrifyingly bad or just as good as the cartoon.

And it does rather scare me, overall.

man, I love Johnny Bravo. I watched that cartoon when I was younger, alot. XD but . . . a live action movie? . . . *shivers* eh, I don't even WANT to know what they're going to do to the actor's hair! @_@

oh and Rock as the actor . . . . that's terrorism right there. since the terrorists (can't/don't want to) send a bomb or something over here, they are now switching to mental terror. be on alert! aahh!

I don't mind The Rock at all. But I can't seem as Johnny Bravo...I'll just have to see though.
Who they should have gotten for the role is Patrick Warburton. Elain's boyfriend in Season Five of Seinfeld. And also the voice of Kronk on The Emperor's New Groove.
I think he would've been perfect Johnny.

Actually in the '60s on the Brady Bunch there was an episode where Greg got flattered by a pretty girl into posing as the cover boy for a made up singer also named Johnny Bravo!
The one ep.that stands out in my mind is where the old witch puts the hex on Johnny because of his womanizing or attempted womanizing and turns him into a girl and he has to remain that way until he learns to respect women.
Now here's an idea for a crossover:Johnny Bravo Meets Bobobo-bobo-bobo!
The battle of the Hairlines!

I hate to disappoint people excited about this, but the idea was canned after the Powerpuff Girls Movie bombed in the theatres.

So, it pretty much won't happen. And it wasn't going to be a live-action movie. That was just a rumor started by a moron.

I figured it would be one of those things that turned out like Namor with The Rock.
There are quiet a few rumors about The Rock, I guess.

Actually, it's not a rumor. The movie has been cast and I found the information on several sources.

It's reported that 98% of the population has been roundhouse kicked by Chuck Norris at least once in their lives. If you're among the 2% that haven't,copy and paste this in your sig.

If The Rock is playing him then it means that The Rock must be intelligent, because only a really smart person could play someone so stupid as Johnny Bravo.

it's in IMDB at least, so it's not a hoax. One can hope it falls flat. I'd pay to see an animated movie (my favorite episode was the one where he meets up with Scooby Doo and company), but not a live action. The only good live action adaptation of a animated feature I saw was "Cromartie High"

This movie is going to be really corny. Especially live action, I mean, his hair is going to look stupid.

Er, IMDB is user-edited...anyone can go in and put whatever they want on the site. That's why it said 50 Cent (the rapper) was going to do the voice of Epona in Zelda: Twilight Princess and that Richard Simmons was going to be Tingle.

That said, I've seen this news on more reputable sites than IMDB, so it's probably for real.
