Poll: longest anime series you've collected (in volumes)

How far are you willing to go to collect a favorite series. (I chose to skip 3 and 4 volume series because they're usually pretty short.)

Hmm, I guess not counting those "go on forever" things like Dragonball...

20 volumes of Ranma before I decided it was no longer funny
15 volumes of Excel Saga and still going
14 Volumes for Love Hina and Maison Ikkoku (this was before Viz rereleased it)
12 Volumes and going for Negima
12 volumes of Mars before I quit

I tend to drop manga that I don't like and quit throwing good money after bad.

Volumes as in discs, or volumes as in boxed sets.

Either way, for me it's Ranma 1/2. 7 boxed sets, 1 OVA set, and 2 movies for a total of 39 discs.

Ah in anime is different:
Urusei Yatsura (25 volumes out of 50... I should get the rest)
Sailor Moon (200 episodes, I forget the disc count, but I have everything but the movies)
Nadia: 10 volumes

I don't know of any anime series over 8 volumes that's even worth watching for the entire length, to say nothing of paying for it.

EDIT -- (OK, maybe FMA. Just maybe.)

I'm gonna assume that rocklobster accidentally made two completely identical threads. They've now been merged. Additionally, I've deleted duplicate posts and such to accomidate the merge.

Continue with your lives, citizens. ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

*pats Osaka on the back* Good job, good job.

Ironically (okay, so not that ironic), my longest manga series (see that thread elsewhere) is also my longest anime series: Sailor Moon. All 200 eps, 3 movies, the specials, and Ami's First Love. Oh, and I recently obtained the entire live-action series, and am slowly getting into it, but that's not anime.

/bragging

IF they ever come out with a GOOD version of One Piece here, I'd buy up all of them.

Four.Inuyasha volumes 8,9 and 13 and the third movie. The next closest would be
two with Silent Mobius and Gundam Wing each.Silent Mobius came in a two disc volume, but I still count it as two separate discs.Inuyasha is also the one series that I have the most mangas of,including animangas.

Eep! Originally I thought this was the manga thread!

Anyways, for anime it will have to be Gatekeepers at eight DVD's.

Anime series? Inuyasha. That is like, what, 165 episodes? We (my brother and I) got the entire thing on eBay. It turned out to be fan-subbed, though. We had not known it at the time. If the whole thing's available in the US now, I really should go buy it when I get the money. Note: I do not endorse illegal versions of product available in the US (same with manga scans).

In terms of manga, there are a lot of Ah Megami-sama (Oh My Goddess) books that I have. Then there's Love Hina, which is maybe 13 issues? I have the whole series but one. AI Love You - I have that complete series. Maison Ikkoku - getting towards the end of that series now.

I don't keep very good track do I?

OOH ST!! At my walmart they are selling the first boxed set of Inuyasha (the first season) for only 50 bucks on a 3 disk set!! Maybe your walmart will have it too???

ANYWAY!

umm for anime: Longest Discs I usually wait till thin packs! (good thing too, I bought a thin pack of Full metal panic! And If I had just bought the dvds it would have cost me 140 bucks AT LEAST! buuut.. the thin pack only cost me 60! ^_^ (strange thing, aren't thin packs supposed to be without special features? This pack still keeps them I think..)

So thinpacks are: FMP, Kaleido Star and kenshin, (it's just the discs though, not a thin pack...it's box has like...a bunch of disc holders instead of little boxes)

ummm... I also own the four volumes of Fruits Basket! ^o^ I am converting my area to FB FANDOM!!! I have gotten... at least 10 people to love IT! Just by shoving it in their faces and goin' WE ARE WATCHIN THIS!

OK! BAck on Track!

Longest Mangas...
So far I have up to 23 Rurouni Kenshin (maybe it's 24? I can't remember what the last one I bought was...because I still need to read like...4 of them..(I buy my manga in bulk ^^;) and I plan on collecting the rest of the series...

I have up to 12 of FB (and have read up to 18 from scans. but I still plan to buy the rest of the series!)

umm...I own all the Alice 19th books, and I am trying to find the last Imadoki manga....(so I have 4 of those)

I own all but number 5 of Juvenile Orion..(AND STILL HAVE TO READ THEM ALL!)

I am collecting Full moon Wo Sagashite (how long is this? I have 2)

Ok...I have a lot more that I could bore you all to tears with lol...but I shall stop here

Yep.It was created by the manga-ka who did Batman:Child of Dreams.
There are also about two or three Silent Mobius movies but from my understanding the tv anime is closer to what is in the actual manga. For one thing I read that in the
movies they made Katsumi into more of a wimp than she was in actuality.
