Somthing rather funny I figured I would share. In the mixed martial art fighting world...there are 2 main leagues. The American UFC, and the Japanese Pride organization. Well Prides 205lb champ, in the Pride video game for PS2 comes out to a DDR song. I guess they like there techno in Brazil (where Wanderlai Silva is from)

I never played the first Tetris game, but Tetris DS's theme song was awesome in my opinion.
The following post has been MPX42's two cents.Strangly, after every single post he does,he gives two cents to random people. :hits_self

It's reported that 98% of the population has been roundhouse kicked by Chuck Norris at least once in their lives. If you're among the 2% that haven't,copy and paste this in your sig.

I think you need to hear S.S.H's version (original also included).

I like most of the Chrono Cross and FFVIII sound tracks (especially Le Tresor Interdit--Without Taking the Jewel) and I like the Chrono Trigger soundtrack. Overall favorite tracks would probably be Green Memories from Chrono Trigger (it's an odd choice as it's supposed to be background music, but I really like it), Aeris' Theme from FFVII, Balamb Garden from FFVIII, the opening song from Halo, and the initial song from the MedSci facility in System Shock 2.

The greatest sountracked game ever was Illusion of Gaia (Illusion of Time in Uk). Every track on it was just great even though it was a SNES game and all in midi. The best track on it is 'Ruins', its the most atmospheric midi track i've ever heard and is still my all time favourite game track.

Final Fantasy VII has some great tracks though. I think that creepy one (that plays when the monsters escape in Shinra HQ when you're still in midgar, and on the boat just before you fight Jenova birth) is probably the most effective though as it still gives me chills when I hear it...oh yeah, and the Aeris death track, thats a real tear jerker, I reckon everybody whos played FELT like crying when they watched that video.

the generic dungeon (ie Edward Castle prison) track, right?
also in the vein of SNES era, EarthBound; the Skyrunner theme and Bus songs are great in their cheesiness

Celes' Opera from FF6 is by far the most moving song from a game for me. It's the closest I've come to crying while hearing music, I get pretty choked up.

Coolest has got to be Frog's Theme from Chrono Trigger. Hands down.

As far as honorable mention of coolest goes, that award is a tie between Writhe In Pain/Holy Orders/Awe of She/Suck a Sage/Momentary Life from Guilty Gear XX The Midnight Carnival. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Koh-Ichi S is a GENIUS of music.

Aeris' theme, hands down... Celes' theme comes in a moderate second, and then "Way to Fall" from MGS3... Well, actually, the score in the last scene of MGS3, just before the credits... "Way to Fall" just happened to work as an afterthought.

Hmmm...

You know, after going back and listening to it, Liberi Fatali from FF8 is a great song too.

Nah (although that is good too), its the one thats just panpipes playing with synth chords in the background, sounds really mystical and eerie.

And someone mentioned Megaman which reminds me, the intro music to each of the different characters is just so cool, even if it is only 10 seconds long, another Nintendo classic!

Ooooh (suddenly having a memory leak)! Breath of Fire 3 had a great soundtrack too. I love the track thats played just before you fight Sunder and Barlio in their final form.
