Getting Published!

Postby Sparrowhawk » Wed Mar 22, 2006 7:25 am

Yahoo!!!!!

I'm getting published!

This is so cool! I entered my poem in a national contest to get published in an anthology and i got accepted! Since most people's applications are rejected, it makes me happy to know they like mine.

Sadly, it does not have a happy message. It's not really a bad message ,just not happy. The title is "Cruelty" and my theme i express is cruelty is the choice of holding back hope. Not exaxtly my most happy writing, but this is still amazing.

At the same time, it brings up a problem i have had all through highschool. Should i purse a degree in English? If so, what career? (these questions are rhetorical by the way, not really meant to be answered, just thoughts out loud).

Just thought i would share this happy news with you all. Also i would like to encourage anyone who wants to write to give it a try. I used to hate english and it used to be my worst class, so you never know what talents God has blessed you with until you try! :thumb:

"The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."

Praise God! That's great!

Is it by any chance the Anthology of Poetry for Young Americans (or something akin to that, anyway)?

Bravo Sparrowhawk!!!
Naruto Fanfic: Kokoro of Konoha by Sailor Dove

What is the power of the weak and the weakness of power?

What would the butterfly effects be with an OC with no chakra or ninja inclinations but a coveted special sensing ability? But that's not her only closely guarded secret. Psst, don't tell the hyper blond boy she hates ramen.

Awesome Sparrow Hawk! I was in your shoes half a year ago. Now I'm an internationally acclaimed Poet, and I really dislike Poetry!

That's beautiful.

That's cool. The reason I asked is because I have been published in those.
