You know one spongebob had them go on a panty raid... I still think theres some hidden stuff in sponge. But from what you've said it sounds pretty clean.Movie 1: Aside from Happosai on a panty raid in the introductory sequence,
which can be safely skipped, this movie is almost totally clean.

It's just that Happosai is typically over the top, even in this (for him, innocuous) sequence. Fortunately, it's of hardly any consequence to the remainder of the film.

Thanks again for your fantastic review, Shoo. 
I've seen the third OAV and loved that one. I couldn't stop laughing when Kuno was flying all over with that thing on his head.

Well, I now have the last major OAV -- my copy of Nettoo Utagessen (Hot Song Contest) on DVD arrived. It's region 2 ... but not anymore
I'm thinking of trying my hand at fansubbing it, although it will have to be hard-subbed (not soft-subbed) since I don't have Apple DVD Studio or a big-name authoring package that supports subtitles. I'll just take off the MPEG-2 stream and hard subtitle it right on the video stream, and burn that separately. Fortunately, my CD of the OAV arrived too, so I have all the lyrics now -- I just need to figure out the dialogue.
Having watched it, I can see why Viz declined to license this (even though it's hilarious, particularly Love Letter to China) -- it's all music, and it would have been obscenely difficult to translate and do right (translating the few OAV title tunes they did in the OAV box set alone must have been a tremendous effort).
