Name changed. Meanwhile, you've read a chapter that I haven't and I missed the episode (family matters). Looks like I'll miss the next one as well... how many episodes are remaining in the series?

YOU MISSED IT FOR STEVE URKEL?!!!!!!!!!

XD XD XD

Jk, Jk.

Episode Summary:
From Rose's baby appears the Gate which swallows Ed, who flys towards the world on the other side of the Gate. He appears in early 20th century London. In the middle of chaos, Ed escapes from the Zeppelins' assault on the streets. About the same time, Dante sends Gluttony to eat Alphonse in order to obtain the complete Philosopher's Stone. Al suffers the assault of Gluttony. However in the world on the other side of the Gate.

Dashing around the city, Ed finally realizes that he is on the other side of the Gate.

Elsewhere, those who follow Mustang are still entrenched. Suddenly, Fuery runs in with news that reinforcements, Hakuro's troops have arrived.

In Central, there is commotion outside of the Fuhrer's compound--Hawkeye and Mustang have made their move. Meanwhile, Archer finds out that the Fuhrer may be in trouble and heads in that direction, destroying all in his path.

Conversing with his fahter, Ed finds out that alchemy is not merely equivalent trade; the lives of the dead--past, present, and future--are the source of alchemy. In a state of disbelief, Ed accuses his father of being in league with Dante. He even goes as far as questioning his marriage to Trisha.

Dante, still trying to complete the stone, removes all of Gluttony's feelings, leaving only hunger.

Although unable to cross the gate again, Light tells his son that in order to return, he must open the Gate within himself, for his body is still stuck in the Gate. With that, he leaves, saying that he will die in the body Trisha loved so much.

Barraged by so much information, Ed wanders the countryside trying to sort out his own feelings and beliefs. Suddenly, a zepplin crashes down, landing on him. In an attempt to save himself, Ed claps his hands together to no avail...

Back in Central, Mustang confronts the Fuhrer in his own home. A battle ensues with the Fuhrer clearly maintaining the advantage because of his eye. He wounds Mustang multiple times; Mustang, however, manages to create an explosion only to find the Fuhrer standing when all the smoke has cleared.

Gluttony, now with only hunger on his mind, marches toward Al. In order to control Wrath, Dante activates the Gate, sending Wrath's human parts through it. The gate remains there and opens as Ed fights his way out.

Finding himself on the other side of the Gate again, Ed realizes that he has died and sacrificed yet another life. With little time to react, Ed dodges Envy's sudden attack and counters effectively.

Envy still manages to fight back changing his face to that of Ed's father effectively halting his rampage. He stabs Ed through the heart. Ed keels over in shock as he bleeds out on the ground...
Thank you for the thorough summary. It's too bad I missed it, as I very much wanted to see Pride fight. Ah well.

Meanwhile, I have read the raw of Chapter 57 but I have no comments as of this time.

As tempted as I am to delete that, I guess I'll just respond, with the strong suggestion to keep further comments on topic.

I missed the episode because I am currently at the house of relatives (because I am on spring break) and I determined that spending time with them was more important than searching out a television with Cartoon Network. Similarly, I won't return to my usual set of resources until the Monday after next. Thus, family matters caused it.

TD you left some important stuffs out....
While Ed is in London, (our world) it's during WWI. And when "ed" says goodbye to Hohenheim of Light, they are still on disagreeing terms. (Hohenheim is called sent for by Lt. Colonel Churchill.) But he says to Ed that he is glad equivelent exchange isn't real, for he wouldn't have the best too gifts in his life, Ed and Al.

Ed cant believe that there is no equivelent exchange, and while walkign he is thinking that as he is walking away from the car that is carrying Hohenheim.

The driver of Hohenheim's car notices that a Zephlin has been shot down in the distance and is falling. It's heading for "Ed."

The Zephlin crashes in Ed's area, and we see him amongst burning rubble, He moves aside some debris that was ontop of him, and his head is bleeding, he claps his hands and a piece of falling debris lands on him. Thus, killing him and allowing the real Ed to come back through the gate.
~~~~~
The rest is basically the same except for the last part of TD's post.
When Envy transforms he doesn't turn into Hohenheim, but Hohenheim's first son, whom he and Dante had together. But who died prematurely of Mercury poisoning.
(So Ed had a right to question Hohenheim's love for Trisha)
And So, Envy Stabs Ed through the Stomach, Ed DOES Keel over...but...he isn't shocked..he is dead...:( that is shown when his eyes glaze over...and his pupils dialate...)
Did anyone notice that Envy's "true form" had blonde hair? Isn't that kinda a slip? I mean, there's no way that the child could look like that unless Hohenheim was constantly putting himself in bodies that had golden hair and eyes like that...
Well, if you notice in the flashback of when Dante first attached Hohenheim of Light's soul, his original body looks almost exactly like the one he has now which, while odd, would explain Envy's appearance.
What I always found curious was Hohenheim's original body's resemblance to a certain manga villain.
Does anyone know if they'll be showing reruns of the final episode? Because, while I don't want to miss it, it looks as though that will be the case.
It's more than likely that they came from an area where there were a lot of blondes.
I mean just count how many blondes are in the series:
Riza,Winry,Ed,Al(in human form),Armstrong has a blonde mustache,Trisha Elric
(in the photos),etc.So it is probably likely that Hohenheim may have had blonde hair originally as well.In any case the whole purpose of that scene was to get Ed
off his guard when he realizes that Envy is in all reality his own half-brother.
btw:Isn't there about one or two more to go?
I never said that Envy took Hohenheim's form. Someone asked why he had blonde hair and I explained that Hohenheim's original body has blonde hair and, if that body was the one that fathered the son 400 years ago, that would explain why the boy had blonde hair as well.
Thank you for the information. As for recording, that would require access to a personal television. And videotape.
I've had people tell me about the ending so many times that I could almost answer this myself. But while people could give you their opinion about if the ending is happy, it is likely to complex for you to have an answer to that question without knowing the details.
Depends on your definition of happy. The series isn't really concluded until after the movie anyway, so I would worry less about the episode and yearn more for the movie to come out.
I`m pretty sure Trisha was a brunette.
Trisha is a brunette in the anime (if it's not in the manga, sorry), that would contribute to Al's hair color. it isn't exactly blonde like Ed's which is closer to Hohenheim's hair color. which would also explain why Ed is better at alchemy than Al because he has more of his father's genes than Al, but I think that's also because of the age difference. not sure. that's just my 2 cents.
I read through all the manga and I don`t think you could tell when the panels are black and white. Her hair wouldn`t be dark enough to be portrayed in a black shade.
