Corpse Bride made me want to sue and get my 75 minutes back, cleanse my ears of the icky songs, and throw the DVD at my friend and curse her for actually LETTING me borrow it.

It's still one of my personal favorites. : P

Oh, and Orenji, the visuals were meant to be somewhat rough, to retain the charm of the short films. Also, just focusing on the fingerprints makes you lose a LOT of what's going on...Gromit's subtle expressions, the sets (like Tottington Hall), the cuteness of the bunnies, and even how the van shifts weight from one side to the other.

Yeah, I know. I understand that most liked it for that quality, and I am VERY impressed at the level of talent it took to make everything in the movie, I certainly couldn't do it. But it just wasn't my style, you know?

I haven't seen Howls Moving Castle (yet) or Corpse Bride. But Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit was brilliant! The humour was amazing, the jokes, the visuals: everything. I think you have to get British humour to enjoy it at a high level and also be familiar with the short films.
Its up there (for the funniest movies) with Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Napolean Dynamite (about the only American movie comedy I've seen that's actually funny and quite clean also). So good!

At any rate, I think both Howl's Moving Castle and Wallace and Grommit were excellent movies, and while I personally preferrered the former, I'm glad that Wallace and Grommit won, especially after what happened to their old studio.

hehe.. I never even knew that Wallace and Gromit was so popular...I remember watching the shorts on VHS about 7 years ago..*sigh* The sheep episode..and the Cheese episode...Oh how Wallace lubs his cheesy cheese!

I didn't find Curse of the Were-rabbit to be that great. And it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be.

ChristianRonin, W & G has been pretty popular here in Australia ever since it was first broadcast in the early 90s. Victor's dog with the purse? That's got to be one of the funniest parts of the movie!

It wasn't the studio itself that burned down, but rather the warehouse that housed a few decades of old props, sets and figurines from about three decades. Ironically this happened when Wallace and Gromit opened up No.1 at the US box-office.

Yes! I haven't seen it in the stores, yet, but it should be available. RightStuf.com reports it is on an 8 to 10 day waiting period, which, for new releases, usually means that its release is immanent.

Totoro is out now. I picked it up at Wal-Mart yesterday, along with Whisper of the Heart and Howl's Moving Castle!*squeels with joy and plans to watch Howl's over and over and over......*
