Force one sided stereo audio to mono in movie maker

Postby Bobtheduck » Sat Mar 04, 2006 4:00 pm

Anyone know how to force a one sided audio track to mono (so it comes out both sides) in movie maker?

Hmm. Is there an option to copy the audio from the left and paste it into the right? It's not a perfect fix, but it's a start (I don't have anything to capture with, so I can't really experiment). The other option would be to pull the audio out in another program and chagne it there, then put it back in later. Have you tried searching google for a good tutorial?

Actually, I think this may have been a pointless question... I had this problem with captures on the Dazzle, but apparently the moviemaker/all-in-wonder combo just detects there only being on audio track, and forces it to mono... I just assumed the two devices captured the same way.

Thanks for the suggestion, though...

Oh, and I've been scoruing google for Movie maker tutorials... Actually, Movie Maker, the all-in-wonder, premiere elements, 3ds max... I've scanned through a lot of tutorials in the last week...

The reason I asked was because:

1. I noticed when listening to my movies in stereo where teh speakers were far enough away from each other to tell, I could only hear sound in one (from Dazzle Captures)
2. I thought it was the same way, and noticed there was only one audio track, I was thinking that it was like, the left track...
3. Audio in on only one side in my VCR also only outputs to one side, so it doesn't automatically convert it to mono

After experimenting, I realized it was mono coming out both speakers, so I was worried about nothing. Sorry for the inconvenience...
