Tonami finally showing myazaki films

Postby Sami_jane » Sun Feb 26, 2006 11:10 am

they finally decided to show the myazaki films on CN on toonami. they are doing kind of like what TCM did. they are showing it as a festival. all of march starting the 19 i think at 7 they will show one each week. the only down side to this is they are not showing all of them. they are only showing 4 movies. i believe they were, Princess mononoke, castle in the sky, nausica valley of the wind, and spirited away. im sure you all have already heard of this but i figured i would go ahead and put it out there just in case someone hadnt heard of it and wanted to see the shows.

How much does the Nausicaa movie cover series-wise?

EDIT: That IS relevant since that is one of the movies they are showing.

(>_< I am going to be gone most of March. Debate tournaments. Good thing for Tivo, eh? That's how I caught the TCM showings in the first place.)

Just a few things that need to be cleared up on this. It will start on March 18th at 7:30 PM

Also, Spirited Away will air again on TCM on Sat 25th of March at 2:00 pm.

Is it subtitled like what TCM did, or dubbed? I am going to assume it's dubbed.

Dub.

I'm quite sure that the kids they are targeting don't have the patience to look at subtitles.

Kinda like me, I'm not really a fan of subs (no pun intended) myself.

Princess Mononoke to Toonami? :eyebrow: I suppose in this age of relaxed standards on CN, though I'd have expected it to go to Adult Swim. I wonder how lax they'll be with the violence on this one...
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

 Looking for a GOOD music mix? Check out these stations:
Grey FM Heartland -- a mix of Country and Contemporary Christian music (Listen Now!)
Grey FM Downtown -- a mix of mainstream and Christian pop and rock music (Listen Now!)

More real stuff...

The Manga and the Anime is very different despite having the exact same author (both by Miyazaki). The anime roughly corresponds with the first two volumes, however much of the characters and plot has been changed as well.

:shake: Of course, Toonami thinks we're only into anime for the action, so that's why they didn't go for stuff like Whisper of the Heart.

Actually, Miyazaki got **** the last time one of his films was edited, so he made a rule stating that no edits are allowed to be made to his films.

Don't worry about it. It was hard to hear what they said on the ad that I saw. I had to go and look it up on which date was right.
