My public library only has the first two DVD's too! I shall be waiting for the next one! I just checked out the first one from the library today and I shall enjoy it completely after I finish watching 2001: A Space Odessey, which I have never seen before.

i finally got the other two DVD's and i loved the whole series. but i have to agree while the last three episodes were good they went a little to fast. and i didnt really like the fanclub episodes. they were kind of boring. but other than taht i loved it all .

I don't believe the manga is finished in Japan. I've read scans up to chapter 107, that would be in volume 18 I believe. As far as I know there aren't too many more than that, but it was about 2 months ago that I read it so I know I'm missing chapters. I think it's in the 120s right now as far as how many chapters there are.

There will be 22 volumes; 19 just came out in January. Hana to Yumi (the magazine it comes out in) is up to chapter 122.

I wonder what the cover art is gonna be then? 22 volumes is more then enough to have every member of the zodiac. I know Rin will be volume 13, that only leaves the Rooster(forget his name) and Akito. Probobly Hana and Arisa.

Wakaba Murasaki does the VA for Akito. I thought it was balanced and well done. In the last anime episode we see more of Akito than any previous. It's intense and he yells at some of the Sohma clan.

As far as Akito's voice in Japanese...heh heh. This is why I prefer the manga of Fruits Basket, and also why a sequel series for the anime is unlikely, since they have messed up Akito too bad for the anime to even remotely resemble the manga.

Yeah, although I learned it long before I read that chapter, I sort of wish that I hadn't been told the spoiler before then. But it shouldn't have been all that suprising, I mean, it's consistent on the types of problems people have...or if you like more variety maybe that is a bad thing. When Akito was a young child, Akira's poor health finally caught up with him, and claimed his life. Before he died, he gave Akito an empty box (which a maid later told her contained her father's soul), stating that he would never truly leave her, even if Akito couldn't physically see him.
Moments after the late head's death, Ren burst into the room, distressed that his departure had been so sudden that no one had had time to come and fetch her, fueling her anger towards her daughter.
This is part of the reason why Akito hates women. Furthermore, Akito feels that all male members of the Juunishi have to devote themselves to the God of the Zodiac, which is why she hurts only the females, (with the exception of Hatori]

From around chapters 97-117ish. That's where you REALLY start finding out what the deal with Akito is.

Also, it's worth noting that Kagura is the only female member of the juunishi that Akito has not directly or indirectly harmed. I don't think there's any deep meaning in that, it's just interesting.

hmmm....still have 10 more chapters to go then to finish up with the super Akito spoiler section...I wish I could read Japanese so I wouldn't have to wait for translations or scan updates...they haven't updated it since New Years Eve...
