Tenshi no Ai wrote:I heard of a new spoiler that I knew I should've looked at, (didn't actually see the capitalized "spoiler" either), but it's odd... just want a comfirmation on this cause apparently it's supposed to happen in vol. 13 which is already out here:
I know he's a girl and all and I heard that the clan fears him or somethign because of his jealousy which is why he hates the guys being around Tohru and stuff (a theory my friend had) but according to ANN vol. 13 also reveals that he's not only the head of the Sohma clan, but GOD! And THAT is why everyone fears "him"
... any confirmation on this with as little spoilers as possible? Like a simple yes or no would do.
Doe Johnson wrote:
I think the reason she hates Tohru is also partially because she seems to dislike women in general. I mean she also seems to hate Rin quite a bit, and I don't even know how you would describe her relationship with her mother. To me it seems like the older Zodiacs' relationships with her mother is actually what led her to think bad of women and to be so violent at times.
oooo....yay for spoilers! hehe. I don't remember reading this or just assuming it from the rest of the story, what chapter is it in?kaemmerite wrote:
There's even more reason why Akito hates women. Akito's father, Akira, was sick, and fell in love with Ren, one of the maids attending him. They got married, and had Akito. Akira was supposedly the most ecstatic over Akito's birth, because the little girl was possessed by the spirit of the Chinese zodiac's god, the Jade Emperor. Akira often told Akito when she was little how special she was, and that she was "born to be loved" by the rest of the zodiac members.
While Akira may have been overjoyed with the birth of his first and only child, Ren was not, believing that Akito was stealing her husband's affections away, and that she was no longer the most important person in Akira's life.
When Akito was a young child, Akira's poor health finally caught up with him, and claimed his life. Before he died, he gave Akito an empty box (which a maid later told her contained her father's soul), stating that he would never truly leave her, even if Akito couldn't physically see him.
Moments after the late head's death, Ren burst into the room, distressed that his departure had been so sudden that no one had had time to come and fetch her, fueling her anger towards her daughter.
This is part of the reason why Akito hates women. Furthermore, Akito feels that all male members of the Juunishi have to devote themselves to the God of the Zodiac, which is why she hurts only the females, (with the exception of Hatori]

kaemmerite wrote:From around chapters 97-117ish. That's where you REALLY start finding out what the deal with Akito is.
Also, it's worth noting that Kagura is the only female member of the juunishi that Akito has not directly or indirectly harmed. I don't think there's any deep meaning in that, it's just interesting.
