WHAT THE CRAP IS THIS?! (Toonami DBZ Thread)

The real heart of CAA; discuss specific series, issues, and things related to anime here.

Generally speaking, calling an anime "stupid" is usually a bad idea in an anime forum.

But regardless, DBZ is terribly drawn out. The manga is better in that regard, but does still have some of the same problems as the anime.

Seeing it butchered like that; it`s like Myoti with the One Piece dub.

I feel special. :D
Though, in all actually, that ain't what got me into anime (in fact, I hated the idea of OP when I first heard about it :p ). It was stuff like Digimon and Ultimate Muscle (I'm a sucker for tournament-type stuff...) that did.

It`s no better than Naruto. Spending an entire episode discussing the exams in one coversation or spending 6 episodes in the same battle isn`t my idea of an half hour program.

Concerning that, at least there was more going on (sometimes). It did suffer from some of the flaws as it went on, however...

Personally, I think Naruto is much better than DBZ, but I have only seen a couple of episodes of Naruto.

I'm sorry. Chuck Norris copyrighted that phrase in the year 1500 ad. Actually, Chuck Norris copyrighted everything. Originality is simply an illusion created by Chuck Norris to keep the citizens from becoming depressed.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Or, she was having a moment of fun with a member, then returning the thread to its normal topic.

Back to topic, citizens. *Osaka is totally a citizen.*

And if what Kyle Hebert told me is correct, they're done with DBZ.
So maybe they should show the Frieza Saga Uncut then?

They would have if ratings in the 6-11 demographic were high enough.

But alas, they weren't.

I liked it, ok, but I rarely say this as I am pro-dub but I liked the subs better. It is a much better show when it is in sub. The original japanese voice acting is great and actually the original show is hilarious. It is never meant to be taken seriously - most of the time. I never understood the humanimals in the show - are they youkai? Also, why are there dinosaurs around - are they clones?

BTW - the original theme song is hilarious when translated. The replacement them by Pantera is a bit harsh - and yet fits the intro in a hard rock way. I love hard stuff, but only if it is Christian - Apologetix, Petra, and Demon Hunter.

Petra..........hard rock?
Marshmellows are harder than Petra. ApologetiX imitates real hard rock songs and I`ve never heard of Demon Hunter.

Back on topic, I don`t think DBZ was ever meant to be a funny series, DB on the other hand...

Petra used to be Christian Metal back in the 80s and 90s before the changed to country. I didn't like the leap. Demon Hunter is phenominal ... check their webbie. As for DBZ - there was so much comic relief and in jokes for those who'd watched earlier episodes and DB that the show couldn't maintain any real seriousness except for the episodes that focused only on battling. I have seen several movies and I have felt more tention watching pokemon 3 than I have watching them except for Tree of Might. That one was just weird - for the show. I had spent time wondering why Earth was always target, why the odd mix of animals, why this show had so many sexual innuendos and images, and why did Sayajins keep showing up when even Kai-sama confirmed that there were only two left (Kakurat-o {Goku} and Vageta-sama)? I supposed that was just one of those "The Japanese just made it that way and that is that" sort of things.

Petra....was not metal in the 80`s and 90`s.
they were normal Rock. My Dad has ALL of their cassettes.

Back on topic, about people battling all the time in that show, read my sig.
